Story
Meet Ever, a sweet, 1-year-old, 40-pound bundle of love who is ready to find her forever family! Ever is a true `velcro dog` who wants nothing more than to be by your side, whether you`re relaxing at home or going for a cruise in the car (she’s an excellent passenger!). She is a bit shy around men and meeting new people. She gets along great with other dogs. Ever is the perfect mix of gentle, smart, and eager to please. She’s already housebroken and walks beautifully on a leash, making daily routines a total breeze.

She is good with other dogs, cats and chicken, our only reason for rehoming her is she plays to rough with our sheep. She is house trained, but also loves being outside. Story
Bandit and Rascal are inseparable brothers, adopted from a local shelter and great dogs while our children were growing up. We are downsizing and cannot relocate them with us. They're sweet, loving and shy and great with children and adults alike. They are 10 years old and have slowed down, but are too big to come with us. They must stay together, which is a big ask, but they get anxious when even briefly separated, while they can't come with us, I can't imagine them not being together.

Story
Rascal and his brother, Bandit, are inseparable. We adopted them from a local shelter and they have been great companions while we were raising our kids, however, we are downsizing and they are too big to relocate with us. While they can't come with us, I can't imagine them not remaining together. They get anxiety when separated even briefly and are loyal, sweet and calm dogs. They are roughly 10 years old now and have slowed down considerably. They are great with adults and children alike.

Story
Meet Archie 🐾 Archie is an 8-year-old Lab mix with a gentle soul and a loyal heart. He has been part of our family since he was just 8 weeks old and has grown up alongside us through several military moves, making him wonderfully adaptable and well-traveled. He is fully house-trained, up to date on all vaccinations, and has no known health issues. Archie does great with children and gets along well with other dogs. He’s calm, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. Archie is especially bonded to his sister, Gigi, and they have spent their lives together, so a home that could welcome them both would be ideal. He would thrive in a loving, stable home where he can continue to enjoy companionship, routine, and plenty of affection. Archie is ready to bring loyalty, comfort, and quiet joy to his next forever home.

Story
Updated 12/5/2025: Sioux (pronounced "Sue") is a sweet, silly Lab/hound mix girl. She was born in late June 2022 and is very friendly. She weighs about 60 pounds - and is fully-grown now. (We do not know her exact breed mix.) The adoption fee for Sioux is $200. She has fully recovered from her spay surgery, and has been microchipped and is fully vaccinated. She's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention - and had a recent fecal (negative) and heartworm test (negative.) Sioux did fantastic with crate training as she recovered from her spay. She's very affectionate and is quite fond of peanut butter. We've working with Sioux on leash walking - she loves to explore (and choose her own direction) and will need some continued training - but she will pee on leash. Her ideal home would have a large fenced yard so she can sniff, explore and zoom. (She has not been introduced to young children or cats.) Sioux has a brother, Jackson, also currently available for adoption. If you want more information about Sioux, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. While we are grateful that AdoptAPet shares their information with partner sites, including Overstock and PetHarbor and others, we don't have any control over how frequently those partner sites update their content. I am a shy to start guy looking for a soft landing! I enjoy the company of gentle puppy pals, and may be most successful in a quiet, predictable home that can help me build my confidence. Prior to coming to ACAR, I had an old injury to my leg that unfortunately required an amputation but I am recovering nicely and am adjusting to my new life as a tri-pawd. Ask to see me today!

I am a handsome guy who would be most successful in a home without cats or male dogs. I have had positive interactions with strangers and children, and I`m a fan of car rides, fetch, and cuddling in your lap. Ask to see me today!
