Story
Some years ago, my Father had decided that he wanted to get a Vizsla-mix of dog, either purebred or otherwise and, after having done some research and driven out of state, brought home Buddy, at just over a year old. As the dog grew older, we noticed that he didn't seem to have any of the physical characteristics that were strictly of that breed and, after doing some additional checking, found out that he wasn't actually any sort of Vizsla in the slightest. Still, he's quite obviously a lab-mix, and, looking at his frame, maybe some sort of shepherd, as well. He's very sweet-natured and, while more than happy to spend time lounging on a chair or blanket, he's also more than happy to get pets and ear-scratches. One of his favorite games is what we call "Buddy Soccer", where he will get a tennis-ball and drop it between your feet, waiting for you to kick it while he crouches down and tries to "guard". He's a very low-maintenance dog, and an absolute sweetheart.

Story
Great dog. Buddy and I experienced a great sadness when I lost my wife of 50 years. He helped me navigate this devastating time and seemed to know what I was feeling. He has been a true comfort to me and helped me through some of the darkest days of my life. Although a "biggun" he cuddled with me like a baby and licked away my tears. Since loosing my wife I have suffered a broken hip that would not heal; a hip replacement that went quite badly. I am now in a wheelchair and lack the mobility to take him out for daily exercise. My medical condition is causing me to sell my home and relocate to an Assisted Living facility in Texas where my eldest son and his family will be close by. The facility does not accept pets-especially on as large as Buddy. My only hopes are that we can find a loving home for him and his housemate Misty (a shy pitty mix) so they can live out their days in peace.
