Story
Meet Ghost (aka Beastie) 👻❤️Ghost may be named after something spooky, but this 7-year-old Lab-ish gentleman is really just a big softie whose greatest passions are belly rubs, butt scratches, car rides, and cuddling on the couch.Ghost came to H.A.L.O. through no fault of his own when his family was facing a move, demanding work schedules, and financial challenges that made it impossible to keep him. They made sure we knew just how special he is: housebroken, good with dogs and cats, trustworthy when left alone, and so quiet that he rarely ever barks.Described as affectionate, gentle, docile, and well-behaved, Ghost knows sit, down, heel, and even sit pretty. His only behavioral quirk? He gets a little excited on leash. After all, life is pretty exciting when you're a happy dog.Ghost does have a few medical needs. Like many white dogs, he struggles with allergies and is currently on a prescription hydrolyzed protein diet. He also has arthritis and evidence of a previous knee repair, so he takes daily medications and supplements to keep him comfortable. Thanks to his treatment plan, he's still able to enjoy his favorite activities—mainly relaxing wherever his people are.His biggest dislike? The vet. While he's a sweetheart in everyday life, veterinary visits require sedation and a muzzle. Baths aren't high on his list either, although peanut butter helps smooth negotiations.Ghost isn't looking for an action-packed lifestyle. He's looking for a loving home where he can spend his golden years being the affectionate couch potato he was born to be. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a heart as big as his head, Ghost might just be your perfect match.Requirements: Martingale Collar; Arthritis/Joint Medications; Prescription Diet (Allergies)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
eet Kiara! 🐾Some dogs have Labrador looks and Labrador personalities. Kiara got the Labrador looks... but we're pretty sure her personality came straight from the Husky factory! She's smart, goofy, energetic, and has a way of making every day a little more fun.Just over a year old, Kiara came to H.A.L.O. through no fault of her own after her owner's health issues and allergies made it impossible to keep her. She spent her early months as an indoor family dog, but as she got older she was mostly kept outdoors. Through all the changes, she has remained a happy, affectionate girl who loves everyone she meets.Kiara was briefly adopted, but unfortunately it was discovered that she is not cat friendly, so she's back with us looking for a cat-free forever home where she can thrive.Kiara is crate trained, housetrained, knows her name, and responds to basic commands. She loves running, playing with toys, learning new things, and will do anything for a tasty treat (especially boiled chicken!). She would do best with an active family that can keep her busy with exercise, training, and adventures. She gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine companion. While Kiara has lived with children before, we've noticed she can be protective of her toys (they're her prized possessions!), so we feel a home with children 8 years and older would be the best fit.If you're looking for a goofy adventure buddy, cuddle bug, and class clown all wrapped into one, Kiara is ready to be your new best friend. ❤️Requirements: Martingale Collar; Children 8yrs+ (due to jumpiness/toy guarding)All of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.

Story
🐾 Meet Thor 🐾Thor may have a mighty name, but underneath it is a sweet, sensitive pup who's still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. At just 10 months old, Thor has already experienced more change than any puppy should. After being adopted twice and returned because he struggled to adjust to home life, we realized what he needed most wasn't another kennel—it was a chance to simply be a dog.So Thor packed his bags and moved in with one of our amazing veterinary technician foster moms! There, he's learning all about life outside the shelter with a patient human, a confident big canine sister to show him the ropes, and plenty of love. Every day he's growing a little braver, a little happier, and a little more confident. His foster mom loves him so much that she has even sponsored his adoption fee to help him find the perfect forever family!Thor missed out on some important early socialization, so new places and new people can still make him nervous. He'll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. In his previous home, he snapped during two situations involving a young child when he felt overwhelmed, so we're looking for a home without small children where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. The best part? Once Thor feels safe, his true personality shines. He turns into a goofy, playful puppy who races around the yard with joyful zoomies, loves to play, and soaks up affection from the people he trusts. Watching him realize it's okay to relax and have fun is something truly special.Thor isn't looking for perfection—he's looking for someone willing to cheer him on through the little victories, celebrate his progress, and show him that home is a safe place. We know his person is out there, and when they find each other, it's going to be worth the wait. 💛Requirements: Martingale Collar; No Young ChildrenAll of our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date with age appropriate vaccinations, heart worm or feleuk/FIV tested, fecal tested, rabies and tag, and microchipped before being placed in your home. Our adoption fee helps cover this cost.
