I hate to do this because we honestly love our pups, but I don’t feel I’m giving them the life they deserve. After having kids I can’t take them on walks and I can’t take them to the dog park. And they are needing/deserve more attention that I truly don’t have time for. It makes me sad for them. They are incredible sweet older dogs that still love to play fetch and run around. They are best friends and sleep on one dog bed together at night. They aren’t picky on food. And they get along great with other dogs and wonderful with kids!!! (They have never been around other animals like cats etc.) If you have land that would be even better. But I want them to feel loved and cherished with someone who has more capacity than I do.

At 2 years old, this handsome Retriever mix has mastered the art of being both an active partner and a calm household presence. Hank is truly the best of both worlds. He is an easy-going fella who loves his daily walks, but if you’re looking for a jogging partner, he’s more than happy to pick up the pace and hit the trails with you. When the exercise is over, you’ll hardly know he’s there—he is very quiet and it is incredibly rare to hear him bark. His favorite thing in the world? People. Hank absolutely loves everyone he meets and is wonderful with children. He is also a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs. A few more reasons to love Hank: Expert Traveler: He rides beautifully in the car, though he might lean over the front seat to steal a quick kiss while you’re driving! House Trained: Hank is fully potty trained and ready for indoor life. Easy to Entertain: Give him a sturdy chew toy, and he is a happy camper. Hank is a gentle, affectionate soul ready to find a family that will appreciate his quiet devotion and occasional car-ride kisses.

WOOF! I'M HANK! I'm a 2-1/2-year-old Labrador Retriever-Pit mix in need of a foster or forever home. I'm a smart, mellow, loyal and loving dog who has been overlooked for far too long! I can be a bit shy when I first meet you, and when I go to my new home, will need some time to adjust with a patient person or people. Unexpected noises etc. scare me a bit, so I would do best in a quiet environment where I can feel secure, with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. I'm also independent and not super needy, and I love to go for walks. I am strong so could use a strong owner. I do well with other dogs, and I weigh about 60 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? I'm currently in California, but can be transported to Idaho. Please email for an application.
