Story
We adopted Dunkin as a puppy in 2020, while living in Salt Lake City. He grew up with other dogs and does great! He makes friends with other dogs and is very playful. Like most Labs, Dunkin lives for food. He is extremely food motivated, which is great for training purposes. We recommend not leaving any food unattended around him. He is playful and high energy, but also can be very chill and loves to lounge. He loves to be comfortable. His favorite spots include sleeping next to the fireplace or on the couch. Dunkin loves his people and is very loyal. Dunkin has been an amazing part of our family, but unfortunately, life circumstances have changed, and we cannot give him the life he deserves. We will be extremely picky with who we rehome him to, as he is a very loved member of our family.

Story
He was born March 11 2020 and is an amazing dog I love him to pieces and am very sad I am having to get rid of him but I have to do what’s best for my baby. After having my baby he has been showing some bad behaviors including growling at my baby when she was just sitting in my lap not even doing anything and I can’t trust him around her. He has never acted like this before, he usually loves kids but hasn’t ever been around a baby so it’s very sad he’s acting this way. I used to have a cat and he did great with her and he is okay with other dogs as long as he’s introduced to them first. He has recently learned from a friends dog how to get into the trash (hasn’t ever done that until just last month) so we bought a dog proof trash can so that may be something needed to take him as well, he only does this when left alone while we’re at work. Would love to stay in touch with whoever takes him as I still love him just can’t trust him around my baby :(

Story
This sweet girl is Mocha. I recently adopted her just 10 days ago and while I would love more than anything to keep her - but I don't have the proper funding to get her the training that she needs. She was found as a stray so her history is unknown, but she was clearly not introduced to this world properly and struggles with meeting new people. She barks and lunges out of fear/anxiety at new humans and I am worried that this could turn into a situation where my roommates don't feel safe or I am unable to have new people at my home. While she has been incredibly sweet to me since day one of meeting her at the shelter, I have come to find out that it is very common practice for shelters - especially IHS - to give this more anxious dogs calming drugs to make them appear more adoptable. If you have the resources to build her confidence with professional help, I urge you to consider taking her into your home. I will provide all of items I have for her in addition to the free adoption.

Story
Ash is a 7-month-old, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated puppy who is looking for his forever home! At 7 months young, he is the ultimate "love bug"—a sweet, affectionate boy who wants nothing more than to be close to his humans, soak up belly rubs, and shower you with affection. The Perfect Blend of Playful and Chill Ash has a wonderful, balanced energy. He loves his play time and exercise, but he also excels at relaxing and snoozing throughout the day. He is fully crate trained and currently sleeps in a playpen with his crate door left open, happily sleeping through the night without any accidents. During the day, his potty training is nearly perfected! Like any young puppy, Ash loves to chew, so a good supply of durable toys is a must. He is still working on his puppy mouthiness when super excited, but he learns quickly, responds wonderfully to redirection, and is mastering the rule that toys—not hands—are for tugging. Smart, Well-Mannerly, and Eager to Please Ash is already a master of his basic manners: he knows sit, down, wait, and come! He is exceptionally polite at mealtime, sitting patiently while his food bowl is filled until given the green light to dig in. He enjoys going for walks to explore the neighborhood, but he is just as happy to turn around and head home whenever you are. Great with Other Pets Ash gets along great with other dogs! He also met a cat at the vet clinic and did fantastic—after a polite nose-to-tail sniff, he lost interest and went on his way. Ash is the sweetest, best boy who is ready to bring endless joy and companionship to a loving family. If you're looking for a loyal shadow and a total cuddler, Ash is ready to meet you!

Story
Gertie is a beautiful 4–5-year-old silver Labrador Retriever with a heart as big as her 86-pound frame. Although she is blind due to mature cataracts, Gertie doesn't let that slow her down. She confidently explores the world with her nose, enjoys lounging on the couch, and has a sweet, goofy personality that quickly wins everyone over. Gertie recently received a complete veterinary exam, bloodwork, vaccinations, and is believed to already be spayed. She is healthy, fully vetted, and ready to begin her next chapter with a loving family. Her ideal home will be patient and supportive as she continues to build confidence in new environments. She would benefit from continued leash training, a secure fenced yard where she can safely explore, and a family that appreciates her resilient spirit and loving nature. Gertie doesn't see the world with her eyes—she experiences it with her heart. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will inspire you every day, Gertie may be the perfect match.

Story
Available in TX only! King is a one year old Basset Hound/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a laid back nature. He is still gaining confidence and can be scared of new things, especially loud noises, but once he feels safe he settles in nicely. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy, though most of the time he is calm and easygoing. King truly enjoys running around the yard, going on walks, and soaking up outdoor time. He has a playful side and loves playing fetch with frisbees and balls. Tug of war is another favorite game, and he is a big fan of chew time. Knuckle bones, hard chew toys for power chewers, and anything he can safely gnaw on make him very happy. King is crate trained and house trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. King does have a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and frogs, and he will chase cats, so a cat free home is recommended. He also has a sensitive stomach and does best on sensitive stomach dog food. King would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give him time to build confidence and continue showing him the world is a safe place. With love and consistency, he will be a loyal and loving companion. To apply directly for King, push the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-751

Story
Finley is an 8 year old Black Lab/Australian Shepherd mix. His previous owners had both the mom and dad who were purebred so are sure of the mix. Finley weighs approximately 60 pounds. Finley's owners had to go into assisted living and an acquaintance took him. She has had him for 8 months and did not plan on having to find him a home. However, she is now moving for her job and is unable to take Finley with her. Finley currently lives with an 8 year Chi-Weenie and a 7 year old child. Finley gets along really well with small dogs, and needs a warm-up period with bigger dogs, although there have never been any serious issues. He hasn't lived with cats, but was around a friend's cat when she babysat him when the owner was out of town. He ignored the cat, the cat ignored him. Finley is great with the 7 year old little girl in the household and gets along with her friends and other friends and relative's children. He pulls a little on the leash and rides really well in the car. He is house trained and crate trained. He is currently left home alone uncrated and given run of the downstairs of the house with no issues. However, also does well if he needs to be crated while family is gone. Finley has a moderate energy level. He would be a wonderful companion for someone older, maybe retired that wants a companion. Finley is a cuddler and loves his people around him. Finley is current on vaccinations and is neutered. If you are possibly interested in Finley, please complete an application located here (You won't regret it!): https://idawg.org/application

Story
Meet Ladybird, a gorgeous young Golden Retriever/Cattle Dog mix who is spayed, pretty well trained, and ready for her forever home!We adopted Ladybird in August 2025 and soon discovered she was expecting. She proved to be an incredibly calm, patient mama, successfully raising her pups before returning to us in November. Since then, she has blossomed into a fun, energetic young companion.Ladybird is highly intelligent and loves to learn. She walks next to you on a leash without pulling and already knows a list of commands: sit, lay, roll over, speak, stay, and wait! She isn’t completely perfect, though—true to her Cattle Dog heritage, she can be a little stubborn at times and thrives in a situation that keeps her mind engaged. Our new careers leave us with too little time for her active lifestyle. Ladybird is an amazing, respectful dog who will bring endless loyalty to a loving home. Could she be your perfect match?

Story
Nemo is an outgoing, incredibly smart boy with so much love to give. He has a big personality and an even bigger heart, and he truly thrives on being part of the family. He’s wonderful with kids, cats, and other dogs, and just wants to be included in whatever you’re doing. He has plenty of energy and would do best in an active home that can give him the time, structure, and attention he deserves. He loves the toughest toys you can buy, is always ready for hikes or long walks, and never turns down an adventure. At night, he’s happiest curled up under the covers, sleeping right next to his people. We’re making the difficult decision to rehome him as our growing family can no longer prioritize his needs. He would flourish in a home where he’s deeply loved and truly prioritized —a farm or active household would be a dream for him.
