Back in February, our partners in Puerto Rico went to rescue another dog when they came across this small, nearly hairless girl who immediately stood out. She wasn’t scared—instead, she gently leaned in, just wanting to be touched and loved. They learned she had been abandoned for months, left to survive on her own. During that time, she gave birth without a safe place for her puppies. Tragically, she experienced things no dog should ever have to go through—but even after everything, Akira never lost her gentle, loving spirit. There was no way they could leave her behind. Today, Akira is absolutely thriving. Her coat has grown in beautifully, and her long eyelashes make her even more stunning—but it’s her heart that truly shines. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and just wants to be close to her people. She loves attention, enjoys playing, and is great with other dogs. Akira is truly one of a kind—a resilient, loving girl who deserves nothing but the best life moving forward. Ruth is a 2-year-old Lab/Terrier mix with the sweetest soul. She’s playful, gentle, and gets along beautifully with all kinds of dogs—even puppies. During her time in her rescuer’s care over the past two years, she has lived alongside multiple dogs and has never caused a single issue—she’s truly as easygoing as they come. Ruth’s story began at a school, where she was set to be spayed and released back onto the streets. Thankfully, our partners stepped in and gave her the second chance she deserved. From that moment on, she’s known safety, love, and friendship—especially with her best buddy, Giant. This girl loves to run and stretch her legs, so she would thrive with a family who can give her space to play and enjoy life. She’s affectionate, kind, and has such a gentle presence about her. Ruth is ready to leave her past behind and find a forever home where she can be loved the way she deserves. 💛
