Story
Radar is a Lab/Hound mix coming to us from the south, and he is one seriously impressive pup. He and his buddy Chip were part of a federal training program, where they learned 16 commands — even though they didn’t ultimately complete the program, they still came away with an amazing foundation of training and skills. Radar is an extremely smart, eager-to-learn boy who thrives with structure and engagement. He’s the kind of dog who loves having a job to do and a person to focus on. He will be arriving in Maine on January 11th, and he’s already looking forward to meeting the family who will give him the loving forever home he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent companion who’s ready to impress you every day, Radar may be your perfect match 🤍 If you’re interested in meeting Radar, please complete an adoption application. Story
Meet our sweet senior boy At 12 years old, this handsome Lab–Great Pyrenees mix (55 pounds of pure love) named Wesley found himself in rescue through no fault of his own — his family had to move out of the country and couldn’t bring him with them. Now he’s just waiting for his next chapter to begin. He truly is the easiest dog in the world. He’s gentle, calm, and incredibly easygoing. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and people, and he’s happiest just being near you, soaking up love and quiet companionship. He isn’t looking for an active, busy home — he’s looking for a mellow place to spend his golden years, with soft beds, sunny spots to nap, and someone who will love him the way he deserves. Senior dogs like him are so special. They come with no chaos, no training headaches — just gratitude, loyalty, and a heart that knows how to love. If you’ve ever wanted a truly low-maintenance, deeply loving companion, this sweet boy is it. Sometimes the best love stories start later in life. Thanks to a generous sponsor, this sweet boy’s adoption fee has been covered. We will still fully screen all applicants and thoughtfully choose the home that is truly the best fit for him. As lifelong senior-dog advocates, our promise is to place him where he will be cherished, comfortable, and loved for the rest of his golden years. If you’re interested in meeting Wesley, please complete an adoption application. Approved applicants can contact our Adoption Coordinator, Emily, at emily@mainedogrescue.org
