Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Zucchini is one of four puppies who were transferred to MCHS from one of our rescue friends after losing their foster home. They were born on April 26th, and Zucchini, like his siblings, appears to be a mix of maybe lab, husky, and shepherd. He should be ready for adoption in late June to early July. His adoption fee of $150 will cover all of his basic vet work - distemper/parvo vaccinations, microchip, rabies vaccination (when old enough), and neuter surgery (when old enough). This will be coordinated by us with her adopter.  Zucchini will require a lot of basic training in all areas. He is a puppy and needs a home committed to his needs and one in which she won't be left alone for long hours. We do expect him to be a larger dog at maturity. He should be okay with older kids, other dogs, and is young enough to learn to interact with cats. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2026, 10:43 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett arrived from the city pound on 7/12/2025 when his legal hold was finished. He had been found tied to a table at a local park. He is approximately 3 years old and is a mystery mixed breed. Maybe some hound, shepherd, lab...it's a guessing game. He does have some crazy double dewclaws on his hind feet that give him a unique quality. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first. However he's really quite loving and goofy. We think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all. We're not sure if he has ever been around young kids. He will require some basic training in all areas and will need regular exercise. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
