Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett arrived from the city pound on 7/12/2025 when his legal hold was finished. He had been found tied to a table at a local park. He is approximately 3 years old and is a mystery mixed breed. Maybe some hound, shepherd, lab...it's a guessing game. He does have some crazy double dewclaws on his hind feet that give him a unique quality. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first. However he's really quite loving and goofy. We think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all. We're not sure if he has ever been around young kids. He will require some basic training in all areas and will need regular exercise. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 29, 2026, 10:02 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alfie is a young pit bull/lab mix who came to us from the city pound when his legal stray hold was finished. We do know his history as we have taken quite a few dogs from his previous home and were told that Alfie is his real name. All of the dogs from this place have been really nice. There were just too many of them. Alfie turned a year old in March and is a big boy at 75 pounds. He has been vet checked, neutered, chipped, and his fee is $150. Alfie is an active, friendly, and strong boy who does need some basic training. He will also need a lot of regular exercise. He has lived in a multi-dog household and seems pretty accepting of other dogs. We don't know how he would do with cats or if he has ever been around any. We do think he'd be okay around older kids. Alfie is a big doofus but has the potential to be a fun companion! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Fennel is an approximately 5 month old mixed breed puppy who came to us from an Amish farm. We are quite certain he will be a small adult dog, and he has fairly long hair. We don't know exactly what type of mix he is, but his appearance suggests perhaps poodle, yorkie, or shih tzu. Heck, there could be some schnauzer in there, too. We have had him fully vet checked and microchipped. He will be neutered on June 11th and will then be ready for a new home. His fee is $150. Fennel is an extremely shy pup. He is very sweet and does not mind being held and cuddled. We are working on bringing him out of his shell and are really looking forward to seeing his cute puppy side come out. Fennel will need a patient home that is willing to work with him as he learns to navigate the world. He will need a lot of basic training as he is still a puppy. He should do fine with another dog and cats. He would do best in a home without small kids. Kids over 10 should be fine.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
