You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tula originally arrived at our shelter from the city pound on Dec. 1, 2024. She was adopted soon after and has lived in that home for almost 2 years. Her family dynamic has changed, and Tula has been facing some adjustment issues. Because of this, she is now looking for a new home in which she can be the only dog. Tula is now around 3 years old and weighs close to 80 pounds. Her DNA test showed that mastiff is her main breed, but she also mixed with many others like lab and German shepherd. Tula has been fully vetted, is microchipped, and her fee is $150. Tula is currently staying with her adopters while she waits for a new home. Tula absolutely adores people and is happy and loving. She truly wants to be the center of someone's world and willingly makes her people the center of hers. She has had some basic training. She does pretty well on leash and will need a lot of regular exercise. She's a strong girl who thinks of herself as a lap dog. She's up for any adventure! Tula has done well with all the people that she meets. She has done okay with well mannered male dogs but really would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Smaller animals are a no for her. This beautiful girl would make a wonderful, loyal companion! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rocky arrived at MCHS on 9/7/2025 from the city pound after fulfilling the legal stray hold. We did know that his name was Rocky and that his owners were unable to keep him, which is why he went to the pound. He is an approximately 2 year old pit bull mix, maybe with lab. He's a little shy at first but warms up quickly and is loving and playful. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his $150 adoption fee has been sponsored.  Rocky is a younger dog who has had a little basic training. He needs a home that can provide him with the exercise he requires. He did live with kids in his previous home. We do think he could do okay with a female dog with proper intros. We have no way of knowing about cats. He's been waiting for over a year now and really is a lovely dog who more than deserving of a chance. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ahri came to the shelter on 8/7/2026 as an owner surrender. Her owners' lives underwent some big changes and they could no longer give her the time and attention she deserves. She is a mature 7 to 8 year old white German shepherd mix, although she looks close to a purebred. She could also be mixed with lab and husky. We have been working with Ahri and giving her time to adjust to the big changes in her life and we think she's ready to move onto a new home. We will be getting her fully vet checked and updated on her vaccinations soon. She is already spayed and microchipped. Our volunteers have done an excellent job on cleaning her up, too. She's been brushed out and bathed. Her adoption fee is $125. Ahri is an extremely shy and nervous girl. Her whole world has been changed so it's understandable. She is very sensitive and intelligent. She's looking for a very experienced and secure environment. Ahri will not be the type to jump into someone's lap right away, for sure, but with time and a lot of patience, she'll become a person's most loyal friend. She has had basic training and has done okay with male dogs of similar size. She has done okay with kids, too.
