You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Emmett arrived from the city pound on July 12th when his legal hold was finished. He had been found tied to a table at a local park. He's a younger guy, maybe around 2 years old and appears to be a lab mix of some kind. Maybe some hound, shepherd...it's a guessing game. He does have some crazy double dew claws on his hind feet that give him a unique quality. His fee is $150. Emmett is a bit unsure of himself and can be quite shy at first. However he's really quite loving and goofy. We think he has the potential to be a fun companion. He does appear to be okay with other dogs. We don't know about cats at all. We're not sure if he has ever been around young kids. He will require some basic training in all areas and will need regular exercise. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spinner arrived from the city pound on Sept. 13 when his stray hold expired and no one had claimed him. To say he is exuberant is a gross understatement. He is EXUBERANT! We think he's an approximately 1 year old black lab (mix?) and the puppy is still strong within him. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his fee is $150. Spinner will need a lot of basic training and a whole lot of exercise. He's a fun-loving guy who hasn't quite learned the concept of "chill". He does do well other active dogs of similar size but his energy might be way over the top for cats. Kids? No small kids for this guy, unless you want them to take flight. All kidding aside, Spinner has a heck of a lot of potential. He just needs a good home to harness it and give him the training he deserves and requires. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Domino was found as a stray and never claimed. He was born in March of 2022. He is an 80 lb Lab mixed with an energetic goofball. He should be fine with older kids and adults. Domino has some dog friends here, but isn't fond of others, so an introduction to your dog would be a good idea to see if they click. Domino also should be in a cat free home. Domino has a big personality and loves attention, he keeps a clean kennel here, so the transition to home should be easier. Domino really wants a home and a family. Will you come and make his dreams come true? All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. Meet Lucy Lu! This affectionate, happy-go-lucky girl is all about people—she loves everyone she meets, from little kids to grownups, strangers to family. Lucy Lu is the type of dog who does a full-body wiggle when she's excited, and she’ll often do joyful laps around the house to celebrate someone’s return home. Lucy has a special way of connecting—she’ll gently follow you from room to room just to be near you. She even makes friends with the maintenance workers, keeping them company as they work! She’s sweet and polite with her kisses, usually offering just a tiny nose boop lick to say she cares. Though she’s calmed down a lot since her puppy days, Lucy still has plenty of energy. She’s a great hiking companion and can go as far as you can. Evenings are her favorite time to play tug-of-war and hang out with her people.
