You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rocky arrived at MCHS on 9/7/2025 from the city pound after fulfilling the legal stray hold. We did know that his name was Rocky and that his owners were unable to keep him, which is why he went to the pound. He is an approximately 2 year old pit bull mix, maybe with lab. He's a little shy at first but warms up quickly and is loving and playful. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped and his $150 adoption fee has been sponsored. Rocky is a younger dog who has had a little basic training. He needs a home that can provide him with the exercise he requires. He did live with kids in his previous home. We do think he could do okay with a female dog with proper intros. We have no way of knowing about cats. He's been waiting for over a year now and really is a lovely dog who more than deserving of a chance. She was adopted soon after and has lived in that home for almost 2 years. Her family dynamic has changed, and Tula has been facing some adjustment issues. Because of this, she is now looking for a new home in which she can be the only dog. Tula is now around 3 years old and weighs close to 80 pounds. Her DNA test showed that mastiff is her main breed, but she also mixed with many others like lab and German shepherd. Tula has been fully vetted, is microchipped, and her fee is $150. Tula is currently staying with her adopters while she waits for a new home. Tula absolutely adores people and is happy and loving. She truly wants to be the center of someone's world and willingly makes her people the center of hers. She has had some basic training. She does pretty well on leash and will need a lot of regular exercise. She's a strong girl who thinks of herself as a lap dog. She's up for any adventure! Tula has done well with all the people that she meets. She has done okay with well mannered male dogs but really would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Smaller animals are a no for her. He is pure energy in canine form. We are assuming that a former MCHS resident (already adopted) was Callahan's littermate, and that dog was born in June 2025 and mixed with pit bull, lab, and a few other breeds. This fits our guesses for Callahan's breed mix and age, as he definitely has all the bells and whistles of a young, active dog. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150. A prospective adopter should be ready, willing, and able to provide Callahan with plenty of exercise and training, including housetraining. He's a friendly guy but has obviously forgotten where his manners are, if he ever had them. However, the kid has potential (we're optimists). We think he'll be a lot of fun for someone. He really has a happy-go-lucky personality. Callahan would do best in a home without young children or small animals. No other dogs for him, at least to start. I'd do best in a home without cats or small kids, but I'm the kind of energetic companion who thrives on activity and engagement with my people. I'm waiting to meet the active family that can keep up with me — let's go on adventures together! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. His foster family affectionately calls him a “bull in a china shop” because he prances and bops around, happily bringing his whole self into everything he does. Meet Miss Daffodilly, or “Dilly” as her foster family calls her. This sweet girl is a former breeder dog who is ready to find her forever home. She has had countless litters in her 6 years and is now retired, spayed and ready to leave those days behind. Dilly has never lived in a home before so she’s getting used to everyday family life and strange sounds. She will need a patient family who will give her space to explore in her own time. She does not like car rides, although does tolerate them if necessary. Dilly needs a home with another confident dog to show her the ropes. She loves her foster dog brother and has already learned so much from him about how to be a house pet. Another dog for companionship is a must for this girl. Dilly does bark at the cat in her foster home, but has never tried to chase it. With time and patience, she could live peacefully with felines friends. Dilly sleeps quietly in her kennel each night and keeps it clean. She is very food motivated and loves to chew on bones and chew toys (and the occasional stray sock!) Treats (any and all kinds) are the way to her heart. A fenced in yard for Dilly is also recommended. Dilly probably has never seen a leash before coming into rescue and doesn’t like being walked on it. With time, patience and another dog, she has made some improvement with her leash walking. She will not go to the bathroom while on the leash, so a fenced in yard will make life much easier while Dilly gets used to her new surroundings. Dilly is slow to warm up to humans, but is making strides with her foster family. She prefers the kids to the adults! And she’s very interested, she wants to be involved, but is still just a little skittish. If given the chance, this girl will blossom into a sweet family companion.
