Story
Nessie came to us from a shelter in Kentucky where she had been taken in from a neglect case. She was nearly starved and chained up to a pole in her previous home. Lucky girl found a safe place to land and got on a transport to Ohio where she is having a happy dog life in her foster home. She is 1 year old and 45 lbs. She does have a mix of a wavy/wirey coat so may shed some. Nessie is a very playful and silly pup who loves everyone and everything. She does have some puppy energy but she is not an over the top rowdy gal. Going for walks, playing in the yard and just hanging out with her people would be enough for her. Although she has not been tested with children while in foster care, she would probably love a family with kids to play with her. She's made it this far..... now all she needs is you to help her find her happily-ever-after. Hap-hap-happy dog,He’s a happy, happy, happy dog! And honestly? That little song tells you everything you need to know about Happy.This 4 year old Weimaraner/Lab mix recently came to FDHS in search of a fresh start, but you would never guess he’s had a rough patch. Happy greets every day with a huge grin, a wagging tail, and enough enthusiasm to light up the whole shelter.He loves people, enjoys exploring outside, keeps a pretty clean kennel, and seems like a very smart boy. Happy is SUPER strong on leash and will need someone willing to help him polish up his walking manners, but his zest for life is impossible not to love.We were told Happy can be selective with other dogs, though we are hopeful that once he is neutered he may be more open to making canine friends. We have not yet tested him with cats. Happy is also recovering from severe flea dermatitis and is still growing back some of the fur he lost. With time, love, and proper care, he’ll be looking and feeling better than ever.Happy is officially accepting adoption applications at FDHS!
