Story
Sundance is leash trained and knows how to sit on command.  He tests fine with our lobby cats, but if a cat runs he will chase.  Probably not good with chickens for that reason. Some of our dogs are adopted very quickly.  If you are truly interested in a dog fill out an application ASAP.  If you take the time to email a question someone will already be ahead of you with a completed application.  You can find all the information we have about a particular cat/dog at the link below as well.  Then click the adopt button to fill out an application. Fill out an application at the link below.  Find the dog/cat you are interested in and click the adopt button.  That will take you to an application.  Once approved you will be called for an appointment to meet your possible new family member, or at that time you can meet the other animals as well.  You must include 3 references with phone numbers for you application to be processed.  https://petstablished.com/public/search/shelter/301551 Adoption fee is $150 for all dogs over 6 months old, $200 for large breed puppies under 6 months, $250 for small breed puppies.  All adoptions include, spay/neuter, vaccines, a heartworm test, and a free 1 year membership to our 5 acre ARF Park.  For other dog questions please email ARFdogs74006@gmail.com We do adopt out of state, but the adopter must travel to ARF to meet the dog they are looking to adopt.  They must have an approved application before traveling to meet the dog.  We do allow small dogs that are eligible to fly in the cabin of a plane.  We DO NOT allow dogs to travel in the cargo area of the plane under any circumstances.  Any dog that is adopted can of course go by personal vehicle.  We do not allow dogs to be transported "pony express style" where they are passed from driver to driver.   ##2136926##

Buddy Boy is a sweet, affectionate boy with a calm temperament, especially for a Lab. He’s on the more relaxed side and loves nothing more than being close to his people. He is a big cuddle bug and truly enjoys soaking up attention and affection. Buddy Boy is dog friendly, but he will need the right environment to thrive. He must be placed in a home without children or small animals. He does have food aggression around kids and other animals, and can also guard food if it’s taken away from him. With proper structure and management—such as feeding separately and respecting his space—this behavior can be safely and effectively managed in an experienced, adult-only home. At this time, Buddy Boy is not fully house broken. We are hopeful that once he is neutered, this will improve with consistency and routine. He will benefit from a patient owner who can help reinforce good habits and provide structure. Buddy Boy would do best in a calm, adult-only home that understands his needs and can provide clear boundaries around feeding time. In return, he offers steady companionship, a gentle presence, and lots of snuggles. He’s a loving dog who simply needs the right setup to shine.
