Story
Kenzie was owned by a family who was never home. They put her in the backyard, and she found a way out of a crappy fence all of the time. She would roam the neighborhood looking for people to be with. She is about 9 years old now. We used to get calls from people who found her, and through her microchip we located her owner. He came and picked her up twice, but then ghosted us. She finally was picked up by KCAC and we tagged her because she wasn't being looked at by adopters and we were going through full kennels at the old place and she was on the EU list. We tagged her but couldn't find a rescue for her. We found out she was heavily burdened with heartworms. Classic Canines stepped in, and they placed her with one of their fosters. They are a strange group, as we retain the responsibility to find an adopter, but they provide the foster and medical care. They occasionally post her but they have so many animals, and they are a small group. They treated her heartworms through Emancipet and her foster sends me updates. She actually got out of the foster's home once, and someone in Austin contacted me that she was found, and we got her back to the foster who was really terrified.
