Story
Pearl is a shy quiet and gentle soul. Pearl did not have the best start in life. She was a backyard ornament left to raise her pups without ever knowing a kind word or soft touch. Since coming into rescue, and living in a foster home, she is finally learning what love and safety feel like. Peral will likely do best in a home that is reflective of herself, calm and quieter. She gets along well with other dogs; she has not been exposed to cats since being with Mikeys Chance nor has she had much exposure to children. We will require a home with fully fenced and secure yard.

Story
Oh Mr. Mini Vinni, what can we say except he’s a thief of hearts!! Vinnie was born approximately February 6, 2023 and according to his DNA results he’s a serious mixed breed - mostly of the herding kind. Vinnie’s foster mom takes him with her on errands and for coffee and everyone who meets Vinnie is charmed by him. He’s very loving, playful, smart and adventurous. He’s potty trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. Vinnie gets along with most other dogs - he currently lives with several - but he can be selective of his canine companions. Vinnie gets a bit protective over his food so his foster mom feeds him in a crate. Vinnie often follows his nose and so a securely fenced yard, and if there are kids in the home, we recommend they be over the age of 10, he’s not a fan of younger, louder and quick moving littles. Applications for Vinnie can be found at: www.mikeyschance.com

Story
This girl is gorgeous, energetic & ready to pack her bags to ride home with you! Her zest for life is something you can’t just sit back and watch, you just have to join in. Between her chocolatey brown coat, and her big brown eyes, she is an absolute doll. HISTORY Coco was picked up as a stray in June 2025. Two different potential families stepped forward, but neither wanted her back. They were not helpful in sharing information about her history, care, lifestyle, or social information. SOCIALIZATION We do not know a lot about her upbringing or past, this information is based on our experience with her in the last 2 months. Once Coco approves of you, you’re buddies for life. She is a little intense for smaller dogs, and kids younger than the teenage years, but can learn to be friendly with other dogs who match her energy. Coco can be slow to warm up to strangers. Her foster family takes her on local outings when they can, so she is learning to walk well on a leash, and behave in public. In her foster home, she has been a little intense for the dog and kids. She has not met the cats, but has engaged with the smaller dog appropriately, despite the mismatched energy levels. She has been exposed to few children while in our care. Based on her interactions with the kids in her foster home, she needs teens who are confident in knowing dog body language, and safety. She is a lot of dog for young kids learning to understand and engage with appropriate due to her energy. She has had very limited exposure to other dogs in our care. She appears to be friendly and curious, but enjoys getting to know you at her own pace. She has not had much playtime with the other dog in her foster home due to their mismatched energy levels and sizes. She is probably not safe with cats or other small prey animals. She is kept separate from the cats in her foster home. Coco has never had an opportunity to hurt a cat, but we'd consider the risk high. TEMPERAMENT & BEHAVIOR She is a high energy girl who would probably do well with access to a yard big enough for zoomies, and getting her energy out. She enjoys walks and outings, but is not a candidate for high dog traffic spaces due to being wary of strange dogs and people. Coco LOVES water! She will entertain herself for hours playing in water, and sunbathing. She loves to have the company of her humans while she enjoys rest time, and she does well getting her energy out in the yard. Car rides are also fun! Generally Coco is a quiet girl. She doesn't bark for no reason. However she might bark at strangers upon meeting. She does best being ignored while she gets to know you. She is very friendly, once she knows that you are a safe person to be around. Coco needs plenty of mental stimulation. She is very smart and will figure out ways to entertain herself, if not given healthy outlets. TRAINING Her house manners are generally good. She seems to be potty trained. She has not been in a crate that we know of, and her leash manners are a little bit rough due to her strength. She is used to a harness, and is learning to walk alongside her handler. Coco has not been trained to be off leash, and we would not recommend she is off leash any time soon. We believe you could work up to that slowly & safely, but initially it would be vital to keep her leashed. This girl is smart and wants to please, but she's typical of her breed in that he also has opinions of her own. She needs a strong, patient leader who will win her trust and work consistently on training. HEALTH We were told Coco was around 2 years old when she came to us, so we've designated June 14, 2023 as her birthday. She weighs around 70 lbs and is likely done growing at 2 years old. She is not yet sterilized. She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for internal and external parasites. All her available veterinary records will be provided at the time of adoption. ADOPTION Coco's adoption fee is $400. For more pictures and updates about her, see her album on our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1063146682633087&type=3 Please note that HART does not have a facility. Our dogs live in foster homes, and are not available to meet potential adopters until after their adoption application has been approved. If you are interested in adopting Coco, please complete an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA/Dog. Our application process includes an online background check, vet interview, landlord/property manager interview (if in rental property), and interviews with personal references, other adults living on the property, and the applicant. Depending on various factors we may require a home check. The process usually takes about one week to complete. Most of our dogs are located in the Tri-Cities, Washington area, and if necessary we will transport them anywhere within the Pacific Northwest, at the adopter's expense. We do not ship our dogs via a third party; they are handed directly from a trusted HART representative to the adopter.
