Story
Winnie is a 1 year old Lab Mix.She loves to go to the dog park, go on walks, and also to be lazy and lounge around the house all day. She’s truly the best of both worlds. A dog who loves to go out and get some sun but also loves a stay home and relax kind of day.Winnie just needs someone to be looking to find a best friend in her. She is kennel trained and is house broken. Unfortunately we have to re-home her due to a career change that has no longer allowed us to give her the attention she deserves. With her adoption she will come with all the stuff she already has; kennel, food bowls, food, toys, and 2 month supply of flea and tick drops.

Story
Brownie was found by a member of the community at Walmart on Road 68 in Pasco. Brownie is spayed and ready to go home today! At just 3 months old and already weighing around 25 pounds, our best guess is that Brownie is a Black Lab mix and she has a lot of growing left to do. While breed and adult size can never be guaranteed, Brownie is very likely going to grow into a medium to large breed dog, potentially large breed, and adopters should come prepared for that reality now—not the tiny puppy standing in front of them today. After spending more time with Brownie, staff has learned she is every bit the rambunctious, goofy puppy you’d expect at this age. She’s full of energy, curiosity, and excitement for absolutely everything. One thing that makes her extra cute? Brownie has a docked tail that gives her a whole lot of character and somehow makes all her puppy antics even more adorable. She already knows how to sit and absolutely loves working for treats, which makes us think she’s going to be a lot of fun to train. She’s eager, engaged, and still figuring out all those important puppy life skills. And yes… that includes puppy manners. Brownie is still learning that not everything needs to be explored with her mouth and she can be quite mouthy with those little puppy teeth of hers—which is very normal puppy behavior and something her future family should be prepared to continue working on through redirection, training, and consistency. We want adopters to think beyond puppy stage when meeting Brownie. Large breed puppies are adorable—but they become large breed adults. That means planning ahead for training, time, exercise, food costs, space, and committing to loving the dog she becomes, not just the tiny puppy she is today. Puppies at this age are little sponges and this is such an important time for building confidence and introducing them safely and positively to the world around them. Brownie will benefit from structure, routine, socialization, and age-appropriate outlets as she grows.Since Brownie was found as a stray, her history with other dogs or cats is unknown. As with any new pet, slow and proper introductions to animals already in the home are always recommended.Brownie’s adoption fee is $50. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. Our shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
