Story
Meet Zoey! Zoey is approximately 7 1/2 years old and is said to be a Labrador Retriever/Poodle mix. Unfortunately, Zoey was removed from a home after being kept in unlivable conditions and not able to be outside for activity, nor had she ever been groomed. Because of this, we're hoping to find her a family who can show her just how wonderful life can be! Zoey was severely matted and needed immediate grooming. Luckily, we had a groomer on stand-by who spent almost 6 hours making sure Zoey was no longer uncomfortable or in pain. Her feet were matted over, her hind end was matted over, forcing urine and feces to stay impacted near her skin, and her entire body needed to be shaved down. We cannot stress this enough: These dogs need REGULAR professional grooming, at least every 6-8 weeks, to ensure their health and wellbeing! Please do not consider adopting Zoey unless you know you are able to provide this for her financially. None of this mistreatment or neglect has stopped Zoey from LOVING people. She's an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets. She is one of our frequent 'office dogs' who gets to come up and hang out with the office staff during the workday. She just loves hanging out around people! Zoey has a nice moderate energy level, meaning she would very much love to be included in your daily walking, or even a hiking adventure, but doesn't necessarily need to run a marathon. Zoey is great at keeping her kennel clean, so we think she'll pick up on the new potty training schedule with consistency and patience. She has met several dogs whom she has loved, but has been seemingly afraid of some other dogs who are more assertive with her, so it may just depend on what kind of personality another dog has in her new home. She should also do well around children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. Zoey is definitely deserving of the most loving family - if you think that might be you, please follow the link below! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564 *Please email this back to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com Zoey is spayed & fully vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200

Story
Hi! My name is Donkey. I am a 3 month old, (soon to be) neutered lab mix. I am microchipped and current on my vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, playful, extroverted Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Very sweet, lots of energy and loves everybody. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 8- still has puppy energy Housetraining Status: Working on it, needs training. I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. I have never met a cat before so my humans don’t know how I will be around them. I would do great in homes with children of all ages. My favorite activities are: Playing with my toys and loving my people! Things I need work on are: Housetraining, manners, and basic commands. Any special needs: I am currently being treated for ringworm, and would be a foster-to-adopt candidate until my treatment is complete. My adoption fee is: $350 Training Requirement if applicable: $100 training deposit that will be refunded after proof of completion of a dog training course of your choosing. *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Hey there, I'm Homer! I'm a 3-year-old male Labrador Retriever. I am current on my vaccines, and soon to be heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Friendly, Curious, Affectionate Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I came into CRHS with 13 other labs. We were all kept outside in the cold with no food or water. Despite my rough beginnings I have a GREAT personality! I don't know many tricks yet, but I love treats so it shouldn't take me too long to learn. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10 Housetraining Status: I am still working on it. A consistent schedule and lots of praise will help me learn! I should do well in a home: I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. I have never seen a cat before. My favorite activities are: I like exploring with my nose out in the yard. When I've had enough of that I'd appreciate some affection from my humans.
