Story
Hi I’m Dorothy, I’m an 8 year old lab/shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, (soon to be) heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped.3 words that describe me: Calm, friendly, affectionate.Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: “Such a lovely old lady!” “She’s a happy-sweet tail-waggin girl“Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 3/10 I’m an old lady but still have some pep in my step!Housetraining Status: With a consistent routine, her foster says Dorothy is fully potty trained. (She’s old girl!)I should do well in a home: I’m looking for a calm, adults-only home where I can feel comfortable and secure. While young children can be a bit overwhelming for me, I may do well with other dogs if introductions are done slowly and I’m given time to settle in. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet any cats yet, so it’s unknown how I would do with feline friendsMy favorite activities are: I love to play outside! I like to explore and follow my nose!Things I need work on are: I need to lose some weight, and I do pull some on leashAny special needs: N/ADoggy day out notes:"Dorothy was a very good girl. She was chill and laid back. She does some tugging on the leash, but not too hard. She was very adventurous and used her nose to guide our walks. It was very hot so we had to stay inside a lot, but overall she was very behaved.""Dorothy was amazing on her doggy day out! She liked to go walks but not too too far. She is a very calm and relaxed dog while also being so friendly. She loves belly rubs and her butt scratches. She also does very well in the car and liked when I put the window down a little to let her head peak out. Overall, Dorothy is the cutest and did great on her day out!!""Dorothy was an absolute sweetheart. She loved riding in the car & was great on our walk & she made herself right at home in my apartment. We had a great Doggy Day Out!""We went to Riverside Park and walked all around. Dorothy loved sniffing every single tree. Lol. She walked like a champ on a leash. She was interested in squirrels, but did not pull or try to chase them. She sat very well in the back seat of our truck and received a pup cup at the drive through of Caribou coffee. She was very gentle and polite when they gave her treats as well. Went for a couple other walks as well and she did great!""Dorothy did really good, she was very chill, loved to nap, and overall very sweet!"Daycare Status: N/AMy adoption fee is: $125Training Requirement if applicable: N/A*If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
