Story
Hi I’m Dorothy, I’m an 8 year old lab/shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, (soon to be) heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Calm, friendly, affectionate. Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: “Such a lovely old lady!” “She’s a happy-sweet tail-waggin girl“ Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 3/10 I’m an old lady but still have some pep in my step! Housetraining Status: I’ve had some accidents overnight but overall does well. (She’s old girl!) I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with children ages 10 and up, as younger children can be too much for me. I also would do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions and some time to adjust. I’ve never been around cats so my humans don’t know how I would be around them. My favorite activities are: I love to play outside! I like to explore and follow my nose! Things I need work on are: I need to lose some weight, and I do pull some on leash Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: N/A Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $250 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Hello! I'm Gwennie! I am a 4 year old Labrador Retriever mix. I will soon be on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Friendly, Chill, Quiet Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: Although I am very shy at first, I am the sweetest girl ever once I get to know you! I love to be outside and am a totally different dog when I am! I am doing so great as I get used to shelter life, I am coming out of my shell and showing my real personality. I howl when alone and I like playing with other dogs. I am a big sweetie and I am happy to prove it to anyone I meet. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 7/10 Housetraining Status: I'm housetrained! I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions. I should do well in a home with kids with a meet because I am very nervous, although I am becoming more outgoing. My friends at the shelter are unsure how I would do with cats. My favorite activities are: Anything that can be done outside! I love rolling in the grass, swimming, playing fetch, and chase! Things I need work on are: I need to work on building my confidence! Any special needs: Kid Meet Required Doggy day out notes: "She was great, super sweet and friendly. She loved walking on the trails and being outside. She also was very friendly to new people" "Gwennie did amazing, she's very adventurous and loved to sniff. She took every opportunity to play in water. Gwennie is, a little nervous but warms up really quickly to new surroundings and people." "Gwennie did great! She got right in the car no trouble, she never tried to run away, she pulled a little on the leash, but recalled really well. She did awesome!" "Gwen loves being outdoors and exploring her area. At first she was pretty shy but when I got on her level and showed patience she started trusting pretty fast. I learned quickly that gwen is a very good car rider!! She was very curious about the world around her lots and lots of sniffing! We got her water and she decided after a short nap it was time to chase her tail and have the zoomies. Once she was all zoomied out it was snuggle time. Lastly we went out into the private dog park where she secured the perimeter, after it was marked safe she was able to run around. She definitely needs an active family who enjoy time outside, who also show patience and support. She did very well for being in an unfamiliar environment. She will for sure melt your heart as she is the sweetest girl ever." Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Hey there! I'm Saoirse. Don't worry--I don't know how to pronounce it either. Google Search isn't Dog-Paw-Compatible, but my human friends have decided on "Surr-Sha"Ask me how it feels to be hit by a car, it's my favorite story to tell at paw-ties! I like to brag about how quickly I bounced back. I went from limping to leaping in 5 short days! I'm ready to leap into your life and tell you all about it.I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped!3 words that describe me: Happy, Goofy, and UniqueThings staff and volunteers have to say about me: "Saoirse is surprisingly chipper considering what she's been through. She won't hesitate to show you her favorite toys, which she prances around with and waits for compliments. She's so silly that she'll even try to fit multiple toys in her mouth!"Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 8/10Housetraining Status: Mostly housetrained, may need some time to adjust to the routine in a new home.I should do well in a home: With dogs and kids of all ages, given proper introductions. Story
Meet Jake! Jake is a 7 year old male who recently had quite a change in his world, and his original family is hoping to find him a loving home. One of Jake's owners passed away not long ago, and the other member of the family works long hours and leaves Jake alone for long periods of time. They attempted to re-home him, but unfortunately after just 5 days, the family they trusted to take care of him ended up dumping him. They took him to a stranger's driveway, left him there with food, and took off in the middle of the night leaving him scared and confused. Luckily, he remained safe until he was brought to our shelter. His original family was devastated to find out that Jake was betrayed in this manner, and asked us to help them in finding him a new family who would never even consider something like this. Here is what his family said: DOB 7/4/2018 Jake is happy typical high energy 7 year old intact male Chocolate lab. He has been an outdoors dog all his life therefore he is not house trained. He walks nicely on a leash and knows basic sit and stay commands. He loves to dig and chew things. He is generally a quiet dog but will bark if a vehicle pulls up. Has been good with other dogs and cats that he's been around. If you think you would like to meet Jake and make him a member of your family, please reach out to us! Yes he is a senior dog, but I promise he will leave a footprint on your heart.
