He is gentle and doesn’t ask for much. He is content with a soft place to lay, dog bones, and a stuffed animal to rip up every now and then, oh and can't forget head scratches. He loves looking out the window and waits patiently for his humans to come home and patrol for the mail man and amazon drivers. He loves everyone, even the spicy little chihuahua. Yes he is a senior dog, but I promise he will leave a footprint on your heart.

Over 2 years in the rescue — and nobody wants me 😞 Hi! My name is Lily Pearl, and I am an affectionate, loyal intelligent 58 lb., four-year-old girl. I am listed as a Labrador mix, with soft black, tan & white brindled fur, big light brown eyes and a determined, passionate, fun-loving personality. I truly have a desire to bond one-on-one with you, eager to receive your love, kindness and companionship! I’m learning how to socialize through TLC, a feeling of security, and lots of patience. I love to cozy up with you, and I want to get/give hugs and kisses! I may have some herding instincts, so I’m learning how to socialize appropriately with other pets. I do try to hang out with my small foster dog friends, but I do so in small doses. When in public, I’m sweet, timid and curious to say hello. At home, I like to enrich my day with many types of durable toys, balls and cognitive enrichment games, and I prefer a predictable routine. I rest in my crate during the day without issue. I would welcome additional positive training, but harshness won’t work with me. An experienced dog owner is ideal, as well as someone who works from home. I enjoy long walks, but I’m a strong girl! I would love to have a fenced-in backyard to chase balls, to sniff the leaves and to enjoy the outdoors! Any chance you like to run or like agility courses for dogs? I’d love to participate with you! I’ll need a home that is nurturing, gentle and praising my efforts. I can be a quick learner, and I even know some directions, like sit, slow, touch, hug and kiss! I promise to return the favor with love and affection! In addition to outside, I’m comfortable going potty using cloth puppy pads inside, too. I am spayed, and current on my shots. I am being fostered in Schaumburg, IL, which is about an hour south of the Wisconsin border. Lotus is the sweetest girl who is looking for a place to call her own! She may only have three paws but that does not slow her down, especially when she is playing with her foster siblings! Lotus does fantastic during car rides and loves the simple joys of a rolled down window or a quick nap in the backseat! She plays great with every dog she has met and will share her toys without issues. Lotus loves to go on walks and is eager to learn new tricks (especially when treats are involved). She goes into her crate without issue and sleeps throughout the entire night. If you are looking for a quiet dog who loves to give kisses and snuggle with you, Lotus is your girl!
