Story
Meet Zoey! Zoey is approximately 7 1/2 years old and is said to be a Labrador Retriever/Poodle mix. Unfortunately, Zoey was removed from a home after being kept in unlivable conditions and not able to be outside for activity, nor had she ever been groomed. Because of this, we're hoping to find her a family who can show her just how wonderful life can be! Zoey was severely matted and needed immediate grooming. Luckily, we had a groomer on stand-by who spent almost 6 hours making sure Zoey was no longer uncomfortable or in pain. Her feet were matted over, her hind end was matted over, forcing urine and feces to stay impacted near her skin, and her entire body needed to be shaved down. We cannot stress this enough: These dogs need REGULAR professional grooming, at least every 6-8 weeks, to ensure their health and wellbeing! Please do not consider adopting Zoey unless you know you are able to provide this for her financially. None of this mistreatment or neglect has stopped Zoey from LOVING people. She's an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets. She is one of our frequent 'office dogs' who gets to come up and hang out with the office staff during the workday. She just loves hanging out around people! Zoey has a nice moderate energy level, meaning she would very much love to be included in your daily walking, or even a hiking adventure, but doesn't necessarily need to run a marathon. Zoey is great at keeping her kennel clean, so we think she'll pick up on the new potty training schedule with consistency and patience. She has met several dogs whom she has loved, but has been seemingly afraid of some other dogs who are more assertive with her, so it may just depend on what kind of personality another dog has in her new home. She should also do well around children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. Zoey is definitely deserving of the most loving family - if you think that might be you, please follow the link below! We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved: https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564 *Please email this back to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com Zoey is spayed & fully vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200

He is gentle and doesn’t ask for much. He is content with a soft place to lay, dog bones, and a stuffed animal to rip up every now and then, oh and can't forget head scratches. He loves looking out the window and waits patiently for his humans to come home and patrol for the mail man and amazon drivers. He loves everyone, even the spicy little chihuahua. Yes he is a senior dog, but I promise he will leave a footprint on your heart.

Story
Meet Gale! Gale is a neutered male black Labrador Retriever, approximately 1 year and 4 months old, weighing about 50 pounds. He's fully vaccinated and full of life, love, and enthusiasm. Gale is a total sweetheart who adores people and thrives on attention, affection, playtime, and being close to his humans are what make him happiest. Gale has a lot of youthful energy and would do best with an active family ready to continue working with him as he matures. He loves to play and explore, and like many young Labs, he can be curious and a bit mischievous — he is known to counter surf if given the opportunity. Supervision and continued training will go a long way in helping him succeed. He is crate trained and does excellent in his crate. Gale sleeps through the night in his crate without any accidents, especially when his crate is placed in the bedroom where he feels secure. He has never had an accident in his crate and goes outside to potty immediately when taken out. He may have an accident if you let him free roam and don’t monitor him due to still learning the home life potty training. Gale gets along great with other dogs and does just fine with cats, making him a good candidate for a multi-pet household. With his loving personality, playful spirit, and loyal heart, Gale has the potential to be an incredible companion for someone willing to give him structure, patience, and plenty of love. 📍Being fostered in Taylor, WI 🏁My adoption fee is $350 and you can see more about the rescue at https://lastpawrescue.org. Story
Meet Arlene! This adorable almost-2-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix weighs about 39 pounds and is the perfect medium size. Arlene is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and working hard on her house training. She’s a smart girl who walks nicely on a leash and has lovely house manners. She’s mild-mannered and has been quiet in her foster home. Arlene does great with kids and other dogs. Cats, however, are a little too interesting to her, so a cat-free home would be best. She enjoys playing with dog friends but is also happy to entertain herself with toys. While she may be a bit shy at first, with some gentle encouragement she blossoms and absolutely melts for belly rubs. Her foster was told she can be an escape artist, but they haven’t experienced any issues. She isn’t a big fan of going into a crate, though she settles after a bit. At night she’s been trusted loose in the house, hasn’t made any messes, and makes a wonderful snuggle buddy in bed. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion with a gentle heart, Arlene might be your girl. 📍 Currently being fostered in Taylor, WI 🏁My adoption fee is $350 and you can see more about the rescue at https://lastpawrescue.org.
