Story
Hi my name is Curly and I have a great story to tell. I am a good boy that’s shy and unsure at first. People, car rides, and loud noises scare me. So I need a home that is quiet and 1-2 people at most would be best. I do great with other dogs, they bring me out of my shell. I know I’m not for everyone but I am the right one for the special person, who can work with me and go at my slow pace, who won’t get frustrated that the world is sometimes scary to me and I need time and help figuring it out. I really want to be loved and give you love, it will just take time, trust, and understanding. I am kennel trained, house trained, and like the backyard. Leash walks are not my favorite but I am working on that. Since I am scared, I like to be able to go in and out of my kennel when I am scared or just feel like it. If you want a special dog that’s not like everyone else, but will always hold a special place in your heart…. I am your boy! I have been around dogs and cats with no issues. I've also been around kids, but I prefer to keep to myself when little ones are around. I'm also crate and housetrained, neutered, heartworm negative, and have age-appropriate vaccinations!  If you're interested in adopting, please email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.comAugust 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Hi, my name is Moe! If you are looking for a special dog, you are barking up the right tree! What makes me special is that life started out a little shaky for me and has left me more nervous and scared than the average dog. With time, understanding, patience, and building trust I will open up and be the best companion you could want! As the saying goes, I stick to the 3’s. I need 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks of a consistent routine and time to learn it & 3 months to start feeling at home. At first, I am more comfortable with other dogs and people really scare me, so I would do best with an outgoing friendly dog in the house to show me how to feel comfortable and confident. As time goes on, I get more used to humans but would do best in a single-person home or just a couple (too many people or a lot of children will be too much for me). I like my kennel and my safe dark space. I will come around and hang out more when I trust it is safe. I am kennel trained and working on being better with the leash. If you are looking for an amazing but special dog who needs a little bit of a calmer lifestyle, I am your man!!!! Email your phone number to rockcityrescue@gmail.com for more info! 🖤 Meet Cassidy — A Loyal Heart Ready to Love Again 🖤 Cassidy came back to us on November 1st, 2024, after the sudden passing of her beloved owner. She's approximately 9½ years old, a beautiful Black Lab mix, weighing 78 lbs, spayed, and fully up-to-date on all vaccinations. Despite her age, Cassidy is full of life and love. She’s playful and gentle with her toys, enjoys a good game of tug-o-war, and thrives on puzzle games that challenge her smart mind. Cassidy also has a softer side — she absolutely adores blankets and cuddle time. Cassidy is: ✔️ House trained ✔️ Walks calmly on leash ✔️ Non-reactive to other dogs and people on walks ✔️ Quiet and observant indoors — she rarely barks, even at dogs barking outside While Cassidy coexists peacefully with other dogs in public, she truly thrives in a home where she is the only dog. She enjoys attention and affection so much, she prefers not to share her humans. She may play with other dogs under supervision, but likely never learned appropriate dog-to-dog play etiquette. Cassidy is a loving, affectionate companion who will gently nudge your hand for more pets and belly rubs. She's eager to share her golden years with someone who will appreciate her sweet soul and give her the loving home she so deserves. 💛 Cassidy would be a perfect companion for a single-person household or a couple looking for a calm, affectionate dog to share their life with. Can you give Cassidy the peaceful, loving forever home she’s been waiting for? Apply today and come meet this precious girl — she’s ready to bring joy to your heart.

Story
I am what everyone calls a "Rare Arkansas Brown Dog!".  My breed is rare and unique. at least that is what my foster mommy says I am.  She told me that I am special because my "breed" is known for its distinctive shade of coffee-with-a-touch-of-mud brown.  She said that my breed is highly sought after for its unique ability to blend into any landscape—especially in the backyards of Arkansas! She also said I am really lovable and even though "Rare Arkansas Brown Dogs" are often mistaken for each other, that we all have our own special quirks which makes us such a fun "breed" to have.  I am pretty sure though that she says all of this so I don't feel bad that she doesn't really know what I am.   I was part of a litter that nobody wanted.  I am still with my sisters and brothers but I know I need to have my own family.  I overheard my foster mom telling the nice rescue lady that I am a delightful and snuggly pup with a big personality! Although then I heard her say I can be a bit bossy which sounds bad but she laughed after saying it so I guess she thinks that is cute. I know I can be bossy with my siblings but I also know that I am not the alpha of the pack so even though I am bossy, I know I am really not the boss of anyone. My siblings and my foster brother who is a BIG German Shepherd keep me in check. One of my favorite things is to follow my foster mom around like I am her shadow. She says I am a Super Velcro dog which must be like being Super Woman or something so it must be good to be a Velcro dog. Me and a couple of siblings can be a little shy at first but once I get to know you I am a happy boundless puppy wanting to be your best friend. My foster mom said me and my siblings may have a tinge of hound in us because one of our favorite things to do is walk around with our noses to the ground. I LOVE to smell all of the good smells in the grass. My foster mom also says that I am a clever girl because when she says "kennel," I happily walk inside my assigned crate and I sit down. She thinks it is just because I am so good and I want to make her happy but if I am honest, it's because I know she is going to give me a treat when I sit in my crate nicely when she says "kennel". I also love to take naps in my foster mom's lap. I hope you will adopt me, I am super pretty and delicate and I promise to be good and give you endless love!

Story
Hi, I’m Duke, a puppy born on Memorial Day 2025! My journey began when my mom showed up at a home in rural Arkansas. She was really skinny and the family didn’t know she was pregnant until she had three puppies a week later, including me! 🐶🐶🐶 Thanks to the love and care from my family, my mom is healthy again, and my siblings and I are doing great! My sister, who is tricolor, has already found her forever home, but I’m still looking for mine, along with my other sister who is almost all black. I’m the outgoing one of the bunch—full of curiosity and energy! I might have some Hound and Lab in me, which gives me a unique build. I also have droopy ears that flop when I run. I sort of look like Dumbo when my ears do their own thing when I run. I am totally crate trained, and almost there on potty training even though I’m young! My sister and I have a big foster brother that’s just a little older than us so he is showing us the ropes of how to be good inside dogs. I love belly rubs and I love rolling around in the grass! And monkey grass? If you have monkey grass, I want to spend hours wallowing around in it! I love to try to blend in and hide in the elements of nature.🌱🌳 I look forward to meeting and playing with you soon 💚 Duke
