🐾 Meet Shila! 🐾
Shila Boo. Shila Bear. Shia LaBoeuf. Shy Guy. She answers to pretty much anything… especially if treats are involved! 😂
This gorgeous girl is 1 year old, about 35 lbs, and 100% pure golden chaos and affection. As for her breed? Your guess is as good as ours! We suspect a magical mix of several breeds, with a whole lot of good girl sprinkled in. 😉
Shila is a HIGH ENERGY girl looking for an active family who will keep her busy with playtime, adventures and outdoor fun. She LOVES running at top speed, rolling in the grass and playing ball, although she's still working on the "bring it back" part! 😂 She'll even pause her Olympic sprinting long enough to pick a few low hanging raspberries straight from the garden. Priorities!
She loves other dogs, big and small, and would enjoy a playful canine companion who can keep up with her enthusiasm. She's quite comfortable around smaller dogs, but her play style is VERY enthusiastic. Poor Pip can occasionally go flying when these two get going! 😂 Shila is still learning that not every dog wants to join her wrestling match, so she'll need a little help with doggy boundaries and appropriate play.
Shila is housetrained, crate trained, food motivated and eager to learn. She knows sit and high five, takes treats gently and has pretty good recall, at least with her foster! 😉 She can pull on leash when excited, but a treat or two helps her settle down. She'll benefit from continued training to help her put those big feelings and boundless energy to good use.
She loves her toys… and loves DESTROYING her toys! 😂 She's also been known to lend a helping paw in the garden by digging a few holes, but thankfully, she keeps her excavation projects to the garden beds rather than the lawn. Apparently, she has standards.
And then there's her favourite thing: her people. ❤️ Shila is a total snuggler who wants to be wherever her humans are. Get close and her whole body wiggles with happiness! Expect lots of kisses, cuddles and a very enthusiastic reminder that you are, in fact, her favourite person.
Shila gets VERY excited to meet new people and will happily jump up to say hello. She's not being aggressive at all, she's just absolutely thrilled that you exist! 😂 Her new family will need to continue working on polite greetings.
Now, about that voice! Shila is actually pretty quiet most of the time. She enjoys sitting on the deck and watching the world go by, but if someone appears at the door or a new dog friend walks past, she may have something to say about it. She also likes chatting with the neighbour dogs through the fence.
And speaking of voices, we recently discovered her play bark! It's a much higher pitched sound that she saves especially for when she wants to play with Pip. It's absolutely hilarious because her regular bark is DEEP and LOUD. 😂😂 Apparently, she has different settings depending on the occasion!
Shila is also an Olympic level jumper, so a tall, secure fenced yard is a must. Her ideal home would offer plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, outdoor adventures and opportunities to burn off that endless supply of energy.
Because of her size, strength and enthusiastic play style, Shila would do best in a home without young children. She would never intentionally hurt a child, but could easily knock one over by accident.
Cats are still an unknown, as she hasn't been around them.
She's great in the car and doesn't get carsick.
Those beautiful brown eyes, soft golden brown fur and enormous personality make Shila one very special girl. 💛 If you're looking for a fun loving, adventurous, affectionate sidekick who will keep you laughing, keep you moving and occasionally help with the gardening, Shila might just be your girl!
