She’s happiest when she’s around people and thrives on companionship, cuddles, and a good game of fetch. Bath time? Pool time? She loves it! And when it comes to food, chicken and rice is her absolute favorite—though she’s also a big fan of apples. This clever girl knows how to mind her manners at home, loves treats, takes them gently, and will happily strike a pose for a snack. Pepper has enjoyed some playtime with dogs her size, but at this stage of her life she really just wants to soak up all the love and attention for herself. She would do best as the only dog in the home. We do not know about cats. Pepper still has some pep in her step, but not the overwhelming energy of a puppy. She enjoys toys, tummy rubs, and splashing in water. She does pull on the leash a bit (she’s used to a harness), but with a little patience, guidance and love, she’ll walk right into your heart. Pepper is a truly sweet soul looking for a forever home where she can relax, play, and be loved. If you would like to know more about Pepper, please fill out an adoption application.   If you are interested in adopting through Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, you must first fill out an Adoption Application located at our website www.LabRescueFresno.org All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines including rabies; flea/tick topical drops, heartworm tested and microchipped. Meet Theodore! Theodore is a joyful mix of playful energy and sweet affection. He’s a goofy, happy boy who loves to be involved in everything you do—and fair warning, he has absolutely no concept of personal space. If you’re sitting, Theodore will assume it’s cuddle time on your lap. With a medium energy level, Theodore enjoys car rides, walks, and playtime, but his favorite activity is being close to his people. Belly rubs are his love language, and he’s always ready to soak up attention. He’s also house-trained, crate-trained, and an excellent traveler, making him an easy and adaptable companion. Theodore does well with both large and small dogs. His experience with cats is currently unknown. He would do best in an active family that can provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of love. Adopting Theodore, like any companion, means making a lifelong commitment to care for him, guide him and include him as a true member of the family. In return, he offers unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lot of laughs. If you’re looking for a big-hearted dog who will love you with his whole body and soul, Theodore may be the one you’ve been waiting for www.labrescuefresno.org. Sadie is a fun loving, eager to please goofball who simply became the victim of good intentions.  Her owner moved into a retirement home, other family members took her in, but they weren’t able to give her the time or attention she needed.  She was relegated to a small back yard and fed – a lot.  With little attention or exercise, Sadie weighed in at 101 pounds when she came into Lab Rescue.  She is now on a healthy diet and getting regular exercise, and those extra chunks of chocolate are starting to melt away.  Now Sadie is looking for her new forever family.  One that will continue with a healthy diet, regular exercise, and all the attention she has been missing.  She likes going for walks, swimming, and loves riding in the car, wherever life takes you, Sadie is ready to ride along!  She likes to play with toys, her doggie friend and will even play fetch for a short period of time, though she is not ball crazy. As with most labs, Sadie will benefit from an obedience refresher, but she is very good on a leash and well-mannered in the house (as with anyone on a diet, some counter surfing for random snacks may need to be addressed). If you are looking for that perfect addition to your family, one that will be by your side anytime, day or night, and is up for sharing your adventures, submit your online application for Sadie today. At 115 pounds, he is definitely not a “little” tike — but he’s working on becoming a slightly lighter one. With some regular exercise, portion control, and plenty of encouragement, Tyke should reach his ideal weight of about 90–95 pounds. Tyke came to LRRF with his best friend Nelly when their owners had to move cross-country unexpectedly. We believe they spent most of their lives outdoors, but they’re now ready to discover what it means to be pampered family pets — lounging on a comfy bed, soaking up affection, and being part of a loving home. Tyke is a happy, playful boy who loves fetch, walks, and splashing in the water hose. He’s strong on leash at first (there’s a lot of enthusiasm packed into that big Lab frame!), but he settles into a nice rhythm once he gets going. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and affectionate companion who’s ready to trade the great outdoors for the comforts of home, Tyke is your guy!  He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.  If you would like to learn more about him and possibly set up a meet & greet, simply complete the application online at www.labrescuefresnol.org. Meet Middy, a beautiful black Lab with a heart as big as her soulful eyes! At around 1 year old, Middy is the definition of sweet and devoted. She adores her people and happily gives adults her full, undivided attention. Middy is most content curled up at your feet, snuggled beside you on the couch, or stretched out on the floor soaking up love. She’s comfortable around older children (though her experience with infants and toddlers is unknown) and prefers calm companionship over rowdy playtime. Fetch and toys aren’t really her thing, but leisurely walks absolutely are—she’s wonderful on a leash and would thrive in a home where long strolls and side-by-side adventures around town are part of the routine. Overall, Middy is a relaxed, chill girl who simply wants to be near her humans. Like any young pup, Middy has a few habits she’s still working on. She’s house trained (yay!) but is currently improving her crate training skills and has proven herself to be a bit of an escape artist—whether from a crate or a chain-link fence. Because she’s an athletic jumper who can easily clear 4.5 feet, she’ll need a securely fenced yard with a tall, flat fence (ideally 6 feet or higher), or a home where someone is around most of the time. She does enjoy her dry kibble meals very quickly, and is extremely food motivated, although she has shown no food or toy guarding with other dogs. And fair warning—Middy is not a fan of veggies! So yummy treats should be kept at a minimum. Middy has limited experience with cats, but when they’re calm and lounging, she shows little to no interest. On walks, squirrels may earn a curious ear perk or two, but she responds well to verbal cues and quickly refocuses. Though she’s already great on a leash, continued practice and training will help her become an even more polished walking companion. If you’re looking for a loyal, mellow sidekick who’s happiest simply being by your side, Middy may just be the perfect addition to your family.
