Story
Bass is a playful happy guy. Bass has the home skills that most shelter dogs don't come with after living with his foster family. He's well trained, loves to play, potty trained, crate trained, loves to ride shot-gun in the car, and gets along with the foster's dog too! He is still working hard with his leash walking skills when dogs are around but is an angel when there are no other dogs to play with. We have also learned that cat friends are not in the cards for this silly guy! NO CATS PLEASE! Bassy boy would be a great addition to any active family or person. He would make a great hiking or running partner and would also love to hang out on the couch with you after a great day of play! This pup would be great for all those active Colorado weekend warriors out there! Come meet Bass and fall in love with this goofy guy! Bass is also looking for a foster home! He needs a little change of pace while he waits for his person :) We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
Lo and Lane are a bonded pair of purebred black lab grandmas! They are literally perfection. Take these girls home for their golden years. They still have mountains to climb! Lane is one year older than Lo, and has one eye but it doesn't slow her down! These girls are in a cozy foster home waiting for you! From their foster: Lo and Lane are the perfect dogs, they are a bonded pair through and through having spent their lives together. Lo is ten years old and a black lab whose coat is shiny and soft. She loves to cuddle on the couch and surfs between naps there or on the dog bed of her choice. Shes funny, loves to go on walks and lounge in the sun in the back yard. Lane is eleven years old and is a black lab mix. Her coat is thicker and a little curly and very soft, she has one eye and that doesnt slow her down. She also loves walks and naps and cuddles. Lane is a little more shy than Lo but she loves to be with humans and dogs alike. These grannies get along with my dogs who are a range of ages and breeds. They are looking for a quiet home with soft beds, lots of love, a daily walk and treats. We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.

Story
Merida has the quirkiest ears! She is a sweet lab shepherd mix with a beautiful dark charcoal coat! She does great with larger dogs, but can not go to a home with small dogs. Merida would do well with older children who want a furry bestie to run around outside with! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Story
Meet Samwise!Samwise is a 3-year-old boy with a gentle soul who is learning, every day, how to be a little braver. He can be shy at first and takes some time to build trust, but with patience and kindness, his true personality begins to shine. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his fun, goofy side peek through, and it’s absolutely worth the wait.Samwise would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention without feeling overwhelmed. He has previously lived with cats and done well, making him a good fit for a feline-friendly household. Because he’s still building confidence, a home with kids ages 10 and up would be ideal so he can have calm, respectful interactions as he continues to grow. This sweet boy is looking for a loving, understanding home that will give him the time and space he needs to feel secure. In return, Samwise will reward you with loyalty, affection, and those endearing, silly moments that make him so special. If you’re ready to help a deserving pup come out of his shell, Samwise is ready to meet you.

Story
Introducing Liz!Liz is a 5-year-old sweetheart who is currently thriving in her foster home and absolutely loving the good life. She’s settled in nicely and has shown that she prefers to be the only dog in the home, where she can enjoy all the attention to herself. That said, she’s doing wonderfully around the horses and donkeys in her foster setting! She’s calm, respectful, and unfazed by her larger farm friends.Liz is on a weight loss journey and is doing great, especially because she’s very treat motivated. Snacks are the way to her heart, and they make training, bonding, and encouragement a breeze. Overall, Liz is a laid-back, easygoing girl who knows how to relax and enjoy the quiet moments. Her favorite place? Curled up in bed for cuddle time with her people. But don’t let her chill vibe fool you, Liz is also happy to lace up (well, metaphorically) and join you for walks, outings, and low-key adventures. She’s the kind of dog who fits right into your routine, whether that means a cozy night in or a nice stroll together.Liz is looking for a loving home where she can continue to feel safe, spoiled, and adored. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with the perfect balance of calm and companionship, Liz might just be your girl.
