Story
King Blu or Poncho as he has come to be known around our house came to us from a kind man, who recognized that Poncho needed more time and a bigger yard than he had to offer.  Poncho knows basic commands - sit, stay, come, leave it and high-five.  He is house trained and kennel trained.  He walks well on a leash and minds well off a leash as well.  Poncho is a big love, gentle with my 12 lb fluffy dog, my curious cat, my two-year-old toddler and my older second grader.  He loves to lay his big wrinkly head on my lap while we watch TV.  Sometimes he tries to climb on the couch, but only his front feet because he knows he is not supposed to be on the furniture.  He is a sucker for belly rubs and rolling around on the floor, all feet straight up in the air.  He is a sloppy drinker and food gobbler, so have a towel handy to clean up slobber and be aware if you leave breakfast sitting out on the coffee table he will grab it.  We are working through some puppy growing pains and learning from our mistakes - eating socks and recognizing that the kids lovies are not dog toys.  He is very submissive and a quick learner.  He is food motivated but not food aggressive.  He knows to sit and wait until breakfast or dinner is served.  Our family has enjoyed hikes with Poncho, daily walks and fetch. Although he seems to prefer pulling the Amazon boxes out of recycling and tearing them up in the yard, or munching on large sticks.   Poncho needs space to run and someone who will take the time to continue his training and reinforce the skills he already has.  We have fallen in love with Poncho very quickly and I know he will make another family very happy.  He is a big boy with a big bark and bigger heart.  He warms up quickly to strangers of all kinds.  He will be a loyal love for life! If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $300 and I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations ##1992946##

Story
Wick is 9 months old. Born July 9, 2023. Adopted from Animal Friends Alliance. Wick first started off in a foster home. He was there for about 2 months when we adopted him. He had some stomach issues but that was fixed in November with medications and vaccines. Since then he has been put on a puppy plan and has been house trained. We are looking for someone/family who has lots of energy. Wick is a very high energy and playful dog. He needs lots of attention especially now since he is a puppy. So someone with lots of free time. Wick also needs to be out-the-house trained to be at his very best. He does not know how to walk with a leash or off-leash. He has some anxiety. He does not like the dryer at the groomers. And he hates loud noises like the smoke alarms. He likes to chew on things. He is an amazing puppy. So smart and sweet. My boyfriend and I just do not have time for him. Loves toys. Is good around other dogs. Good with kids. He does shed. He is currently around 60 lbs.

Puppies are a lot of fun, but also a lot of responsibility! Things you should be aware of before adopting a puppy from the Denver Animal Shelter:* Puppies will need regular socialization. The critical time period for socialization is between 8 and 16 weeks, but it is important to continue to socialize your new pup throughout their young life. This means having positive and enjoyable interactions with as many new people, new dogs, and new environments as possible. Appropriate socialization will help puppies grow into healthier and more social adults.* They will not know what is appropriate to chew on, where they should go to the bathroom, and how to behave in all situations. Puppies require a lot of time spent on training, management, and supervision. It is recommended that puppies be crate trained or kept in a puppy-proofed room of the house with appropriate chew toys and enrichment when not actively supervised. The Denver Animal Shelter always recommends positive reinforcement-based training methods. * Puppies in a shelter environment often have unknown parentage. While we make our best guesses on size and breed, we cannot guarantee their adult temperament, behavior, size, or characteristics.More about this puppy: This handsome young pup is Denver! He is sweet, affectionate and oh-so cute. He can be shy and nervous when first meeting new people, so any kids in the home should be old enough to go slow with him in the beginning. Once he warms up he is an absolute doll and playful pup!*Older kids recommended

Story
TRIGGER WARNING: Discussion of animal abuse. Meet sweet Ryder! As you can see from her pictures, Ryder has already discovered the cruel side of humanity at such an early age. She was found and brought to our rescue partner by a good samaritan after being shot several times with a BB gun in the head, face, and body. With the extent of her injuries, there is no way this wasn't intentional animal abuse. Despite being treated so cruelly, Ryder ADORES humans and loves to get attention from them. She is such a perfect little pup and is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She also loves dogs and holds her own against her 55 pound foster brother! Some of Ryder's favorite things are playing, peanut butter kongs, cuddles, and being told she's the most beautiful princess. Most of her BBs were removed by our rescue partner prior to arrival, but some had to wait until she arrived here. She is scheduled to have her eye removed on 4/24 and will continue healing physically and emotionally. We are looking for an adopter for Ryder who will always shower her with nothing but love, attention, protection, and care. Someone who will never mistreat her or allow anyone to mistreat her ever again. Someone who make her feel safe and comfortable and will always have a home for her. Let's find this angel the perfect, loving, FOREVER home that she deserves! ADOPTION FEE: $500 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.
