Mavis is a very sweet tempered adult female labrador retriever. She LOVES all people - male, female, tall, short, older, younger - doesnt matter to her! She is also very smart. She is house-trained, she knows how to use a pet door, she sleeps well in her crate, and she loves walks. She does not appear to be anxious except when new dogs approach her. She has been attacked by a dog in the past, so she takes time to trust new dogs now. She may do best as an only dog. She does not bark a lot - only occasionally. She knows to sit and takes treats with a soft mouth. She also knows wait, stay, and sit commands. She does tend to follow her foster mom around and likes to be near her :) She also loves pets, scratches, and ear rubs from anyone and everyone! She is an awesome dog and deserves a wonderful home. Rita landed at MCAS and had successful knee surgery. She is a very sweet dog. She is shy in new circumstances, but when she warms up, she is very affectionate, and likes to be near her person. She likes toys and is happy to play with them herself and enjoys spending time on the couch but also enjoys some romping in the backyard. She is crate trained, and housebroken. She does not enjoy car rides yet but is working on it. She has some allergies that are being treated, and because of her knee surgery vet said she cant go on long hikes (but can still do normal walks!) She will make a wonderful companion.
