About a year and a half ago, this handsome boy named Henry captured an elderly woman's heart at the Marion County Animal Shelter. She took him home for a trial adoption and fell completely in love with him. His energy was hard to match, but with long walks, professional training, and some wonderful play days at Red Fern Pet Lodge, Henry has been a wonderful companion. Sadly, the owner's recent fall resulted in a broken wrist that required surgery, and the injury has changed everything. As she struggles to recover and care for herself, she can no longer safely handle a strong, energetic dog. Henry is a black Lab mix, weighs around 55 lbs, and is approximately 3½ years old. He is up to date on all vaccinations and has been neutered. Because Henry's owner wants to ensure he has the best possible start in his new home, she is willing to provide a credit at a local pet supply store and/or a licensed veterinarian to help offset some first-year expenses.

He was a rescue dog that was given to my son and has just gotten to be too much for him to handle. He needs more room to run and overall more attention than my son can give him. Max seems to have been incredibly unsocialized, we think possibly locked in a crate in a room alone for quite a while. He acts like an 8 week old puppy with no boundaries but he's in a big boy body. He needs a lot of work. Housebroken. Loves bath time and water. Loves toys. Playful and energetic, as any lab puppy should be. He's great with other dogs. Are you loooking for a sweet ride or die? Look no further. Butch is a delightful friend and SO SMART! Rescued from a tethered hell. Butch languished for months on a cable tether. He was not fed well and he was taunted... treated like a vicious beast. He was frustated and anxious. Afraid and alone. Within moments of meeting him, we saw something different. We spent time sitting on the stoop, tossing him bits of our lunch. Eventually he settled enough to start catching the bits we tossed him. We then asked him to sit. And HE DID. How were we to believe this was a bad dog? He is a good dog that has been treated badly. We have had him for a couple weeks now and he is a new man. He is a big sweet, intelligent goof ball. He has started playing and loves to go for truck rides. He uses his nose to move your hand if he needs something. He is just amazing. He is not a purebred Golden retriever but he is SO GOLDEN! He is not recommended around small children, small animals or other dogs. He is intitailly distrusting of strangers but warms up to kindness quickly. He weighed 75 pounds when rescued and was VERY thin! He will likelt be a 100 pound dog when he is fully filled out! We have videos on our facebook that share the progression of his rescue.
