I have been here since 2/8/2023. I am a strong, happy, happy dog who loves attention, walks, and people. I love to run and play, but I also enjoy being a lap dog. I am also potty trained, leash trained & love to run around and play. I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines, and HW negative! Out of kennel I respond well to the leash and am attentive to my handler. I am treat motivated, and need a strong handler committed to building a relationship. I should be the only pet and as I was abused by a child, I am not good with them at this time. I'm very eager to please and can learn all you teach me! Ruger is a very friendly boy that gets along with anyone. He is rambunctious and has lots of energy, but for a big dog I wouldn’t say he requires a large yard or any amount of space.. he’s the ultimate baby that wants to be right by your side anywhere you are and quickly does his business outside and wants right back in. He loves kids but will also steal food (gently) from anyone whenever he can. He unfortunately developed epilepsy at age 2 (he is 3 years old now) and his seizures are controlled at only 1 or 2 a month in the middle of the night, so we’ve opted to not put him on medication for it. He has high anxiety and does not like shut doors or to be locked out of where people are, ever. He is a sweet boy that needs love and attention. He LOVES to swim and id love to see him with someone who could take him on swimming adventures. He is very very strong and not great on a leash/ needs more leash training to not pull.

We found Bear starving, roaming the street a year ago. He is very energetic and listens very well. He is great in the car, with horses, at the beach, doesn't bark or pull toward other dogs when on a leash. He is good with children and loves attention from anyone. He loves to snuggle and is very vocal, although he is quiet inside the house and wont bark, even if my other dogs are sounding the alarm. I have 2 other dogs, Bear is great with the female but my male Blue Heeler mix is very territorial and picking fights with Bear and currently we are keeping them separated. Bear is fearful of him and it would be best if he has a home with lots of space to run and possibly a female dog as a companion, but he would also be a great only dog. We have been trying for over a year to re home him without luck. He does not do well in a crate. He is very smart and learns commands after 1 or 2 repetitions. He's a big baby, has the best temperament of all our rescues, we want the best life for him

She’s almost 5, has a great personality when she lets it show and loves food and bones and toys, and butt scratches lol, she’s truly an amazing dog when her anxiety isn’t taking over, she hates being alone and breaks out of her cage consistently, goes through trash, etc… when home alone sometimes, lately her anxiety is getting worse we believe her owners before have been abusive from how she acts around loud noises and flinches something she’s just never gotten over sadly and I think she needs attention and space to run around and stuff that we just can’t provide her, I’m posting her here because we’ve tried and tried to deal with it and help her but it’s like she stopped even trying with us and I am really hoping to find a loving family with a yard that can give her the attention she needs and deserves and hopefully can do what we couldn’t and truly help her, it’s sad to see how bad her anxiety is getting even with anxiety medication, I’m just being honest bc she deserves a great fam.
