She is great with other dogs & has a Golden Retriever male buddy named Ryker who is almost 4 years old (dog on the right in the pics) & I hope they can both find the same home so they are not split up. They are great with each other & I currently have a 3 year old girl & she is always sweet to my daughter. I hope they both can adopted together to the same home. I am happy to answer any questions. I am relocating & moving into a smaller place & that is why I am having to find them a new good home.

Story
Hello Thank you for reading this. We would love to rehome both dogs together. However, if you prefer one of them that is also okay. They are brother and sister. Born November 5, 2022. They are pure Labrador breed. They are both neutered, microchipped and updated in shots. We would love for them to go a perfect home. They are good with kids. They are house and crate trained. Rex is the alpha and he's protective of the family. He listens to commands and can also be very lazy and chill. Kya is always hyper, loves to play and is full of energy.

Story
We bought Smokey from a family friend that was elderly and unable to keep up with him. He is such a sweet dog but very rambunctious. So rambunctious that our vet suggested medication to help him calm down. We were doing really well with getting him adjusted and then we ended up having a baby. With the new baby we are unable to give him the attention he needs and he spends most of his days in his crate or on a runner outside. We dont feel it’s fair to him and sadly think it’s time to rehome. We are looking for a home that can give Smokey room to run and play and someone who can give him the attention he deserves.

Story
Highly energetic but very loving pup! He was born on a friends farm and we ended up taking him in as a puppy. His birthday is July 18th, 2023. Good with kids and other dogs. He is very playful and highly energetic, he needs to be able to have a big enough yard to play and run. He loves to run! He is potty train and crate trained. Colt needs lots of attention and someone who is able to take the time to train him. Unfortunately, we are not able to do that and having to keep him in his crate most of the day. As much as it pains us to part with him, he doesn’t deserve us. He is up to date on all his shots and I will provide records. He is also on heart worm and flea prevention. He will also come with large crate

Story
UPDATE:  465 DAYS AT OUR KENNEL looking for a home.  Sweet Max.one year old black lab mix. Max seems to have been incredibly unsocialized, we think possibly locked in a crate in a room alone for quite a while.  He acts like an 8 week old puppy with no boundaries but he's in a big boy body.  He needs a lot of work. Housebroken. Loves bath time and water. Loves toys. Playful and energetic, as any lab puppy should be. He's great with other dogs. Unknown with cats and other animals as he has never been around them. He needs a big yard and grass and sunshine. He is a good boy.  ##1039448##

Story
Updated 12/3/2023: Sioux (pronounced "Sue") is a sweet, silly Lab/hound mix girl. She was born in late June 2022 and is very friendly. She weighs about 60 pounds - and is probably fully-grown now. (We do not know her exact breed mix.) The adoption fee for Sioux is $200. She has fully recovered from her spay surgery, and has been microchipped and is fully vaccinated. She's receiving monthly flea and heartworm prevention - and had a recent fecal (negative) and heartworm test (negative.) Sioux did fantastic with crate training as she recovered from her spay. She's very affectionate and is quite fond of peanut butter. We've working with Sioux on leash walking - she loves to explore (and choose her own direction) and will need some continued training - but she will pee on leash. Her ideal home would have a large fenced yard so she can sniff, explore and zoom. (She has not been introduced to young children or cats.) Sioux has a brother, Jackson, also currently available for adoption. If you want more information about Sioux, call or text Jody at 352-316-5155 or email her at SCRWestLevy@gmail.com. Thanks for your interest in adopting - and for your patience as we are an all-volunteer rescue! (We do keep our posts current! Sometimes we have to repost a pup when an adoption falls through. Thanks for understanding.) - - - - - PS. Second Chance Rescue posts our pets on AdoptAPet.com. While we are grateful that AdoptAPet shares their information with partner sites, including Overstock and PetHarbor and others, we don't have any control over how frequently those partner sites update their content. Therefore, if you're interested in a particular animal, we encourage you to visit www.adoptapet.com/2ndChRescue/ for the most up-to-date status, description, pictures and/or video of a particular pet.

Scrappy is a resilient 1-year-old boy, weighing 50 lbs. He overcame a tough history with skin issues and hair loss due to poor care. Today, Scrappy has blossomed into a healthy, handsome and playful young man with a beautiful new coat. His transformation includes newfound confidence, a joy for life and exploration, an outgoing nature, and a love for play and affection. He enjoys playing in his wading pool on a warm or hot day! He absolutely thrives when playing with other polite dogs and getting hugs from us humans, both big and small. We do not have any information on how he is with cats, but we always do meet-n-greets with potential fur siblings to ensure that all get along. Scrappy, the "cuddle bug", is ready to bring joy to a loving family. Story
Meet Hadley! This delightful little girl is estimated to be around a year old and a charming 43 pounds. She joined us after being found with her puppies who went on to be adopted through another rescue. Initially shy and scared, Hadley has since transformed into a playful and affectionate companion. We are working on manners training as she is still quite an adolescent herself and became a momma very young. She's happily playing, learning her manners for walks on a leash, and showing love to all the wonderful people she meets. Her training will need to be re-inforced in her new home. Hadley is going to make a wonderful fun, loving and active companion as she matures and learns her place in the world. Hadley is making doggie friends and becoming quite social. She adores human attention and playtime. She walks nicely on a leash also. While we have no info on her feelings for cats, we'll be testing that too. If you're ready for a meet-and-greet with this sweet girl, reach out here or call 352-528-9888 to set up an appointment. Hadley is ready to bring joy and love into her forever home!   April 24, 2024, 2:29 pm

Story
Darcy is a lively black lab mix most likely, around a year old and weighing 58 pounds. After caring for her adorable puppies, Darcy is now ready to embark on her own adventures. She's embracing her newfound independence, loving to run, play, and explore. Darcy is leash walking quite nicely and has a keen nose for interesting scents. Although occasionally distracted by sights, sounds and scents, she's a boisterous and fun-loving gal. She's starting to make some doggie friends but we have no info on how she is with cats, so that would need to be trialed. If you're ready for an active and playful companion, call 352-528-9888 or message for more details.  April 24, 2024, 2:29 pm

Story
Brewster is a handsome Black Lab mix. He is estimated at 1 yr old and weighs about 54 lbs. He is currently in a foster home so we can learn a lot more about him. His Foster Mom says the following: "Brewster is housebroken and crate trained. He’s is all boy. He loves to play tug-o-war with his rope and roughhouse with the other dogs, so any doggie siblings will need to be equally matched.” We always do a meet-n-greet with potential fur siblings, to be sure all do well together, which is our normal process. Mom also says, “once Brewster expends his energy, he loves to just lay on the porch and nap all afternoon. He also loves to cuddle on the couch and he adores attention. We have no information on how he is with cats. We obtained a new horse recently and Brewster is learning about it and settling in. He also loves water and enjoys a dip in the water trough. We are working on leash training, although, on the farm, he is off leash most of the time. Brewster will need his new family to continue his training as he’s still just a young boy. He doesn’t love getting into the car, but once in, he’s wonderful. Brewster loves being outside and will follow you around as you go about your day. He enjoys sleeping on the couch and has his very own bed that he loves to go to at night.” He’s been fully vetted, deemed healthy, neutered and ready to find his very own home. He’s going to be a wonderful family members for a lucky family. If you would like to get more information on Brewster or set up an appointment to meet him, either message us here or call 352-528-9888 April 24, 2024, 2:29 pm

Story
Gus is a sweet, almost 5 mos old, Lab mix, but his breeding is unknown for certain. He is going to be a good sized boy though, as he matures. He weighed 46 lbs on 3/2. He is being fostered in a farm environment. He loves to explore and is great with the farm animals, cats and the other small puppies as well as the larger adult dogs on the farm. He is a bit of a lover and a cuddler. Out in public, he is a bit more adventurous than his sister. He loves to meet new people. He is great on a leash and is learning his basic commands. He is ready to find his forever home! Gus is in an environment where he is constantly receiving training so he should be a pretty well mannered young man by the time he finds his new family! If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, either message us here or call 352-528-9888 to set up an appointment to meet him.April 24, 2024, 2:29 pm

Story
Are you loooking for a sweet ride or die? Look no further. Butch is a delightful friend and SO SMART!  Rescued from a tethered hell. Butch languished for months on a cable tether. He was not fed well and he was taunted... treated like a vicious beast. He was frustated and anxious. Afraid and alone. Within moments of meeting him, we saw something different. We spent time sitting on the stoop, tossing him bits of our lunch. Eventually he settled enough to start catching the bits we tossed him. We then asked him to sit. And HE DID.  How were we to believe this was a bad dog? He is a good dog that has been treated badly. We have had him for a couple weeks now and he is a new man. He is a big sweet, intelligent goof ball. He has started playing and loves to go for truck rides. He uses his nose to move your hand if he needs something. He is just amazing. He is not a purebred Golden retriever but he is SO GOLDEN! He is not recommended around small children, small animals or other dogs. He is intitailly distrusting of strangers but warms up to kindness quickly.  He weighed 75 pounds when rescued and was VERY thin! He will likelt be a 100 pound dog when he is fully filled out! We have videos on our facebook that share the progression of his rescue. Just Search "BUTCH" in out facebook page.  We have just a few volunteers and there is a week or two turnaround for adoption applications. If you cannot find our adoption application, please text our director for a link: Aspen (352)843-6858 ##1366256##
