Story
Harry is a 1 year old Retriever/Labrador mix. He was relinquished because he did not get along with a younger male dog in his previous house. He has lived peacefully with kids and cats but is selective about his choice of canine companion. He's very smart and friendly, but gets nervous in new environments. He's a very good boy but could use someone who has time to make him feel comfortable. Come by and meet Harry today!

Story
Meet Dixie 🐾 Dixie is a 9-year-old (almost 10!) red heeler, border collie, lab mix who has been part of our family since she was a tiny puppy from her litter. She’s a loyal, smart, and well-trained girl who knows her commands and listens well. She’s great in the yard and doesn’t even need to be leashed at home, though we do leash her for walks and outings. She is kennel-trained and comfortably stays kenneled when we leave the house. Dixie is wonderful with kids. She has been around children her entire life—our own kids and many others—and has been loved on, hugged, and “wollered” more times than we can count. She’s patient, gentle, and used to a busy family environment. She would do best with a family or person looking for a loyal companion who already knows the ropes and just wants to be loved and included. Dixie has so much love left to give and deserves a home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by care and kindness.

Story
My name is Bello! Right now, my favorite thing to do is run, run, and run around in our play pens. I would love an active home to engage my mind and explore with. I would be the ultimate adventure buddy. Unless otherwise stated, the adoption fees for dogs over 5 months range from $50-$175. Puppies under 5 months are $175.00. Dog adoption fees include a microchip. The adoption fee includes the animal's surgery, vaccinations, flea preventative, deworming medication, sample bag of food/treat samples and a free first exam with participating veterinarians. Shelter policy and 2018 Indiana state law decrees all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter. Our shelter is open to the public on Monday- Saturday from 8:00 am -5:00 pm EST with the exception of Wednesdays on which we typically open by 1:00 pm. If you would like to make an appointment to meet one of our many adoptable animals, please send an email to us at pvchs@joink.com.
