Story
My name is Bello! Right now, my favorite thing to do is run, run, and run around in our play pens. I would love an active home to engage my mind and explore with. I would be the ultimate adventure buddy. Unless otherwise stated, the adoption fees for dogs over 5 months range from $50-$175. Puppies under 5 months are $175.00. Dog adoption fees include a microchip. The adoption fee includes the animal's surgery, vaccinations, flea preventative, deworming medication, sample bag of food/treat samples and a free first exam with participating veterinarians. Shelter policy and 2018 Indiana state law decrees all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter. Our shelter is open to the public on Monday- Saturday from 8:00 am -5:00 pm EST with the exception of Wednesdays on which we typically open by 1:00 pm. If you would like to make an appointment to meet one of our many adoptable animals, please send an email to us at pvchs@joink.com. Story
Meet Yams!  She is a 2 year old labrador retriever mix who weighs 41 lbs.  She is already showing what a wonderful companion she’ll be! She’s making great progress with house-training and rarely has accidents, though she does prefer her person to step outside with her when it’s potty time. Crates aren’t her favorite, but she’s proven to be trustworthy when left loose in her foster home. At night, she’ll happily snooze wherever she pleases, though her top choice is snuggling in bed with her humans. She loves playtime—whether romping in the yard with her canine foster sibling, chasing toys around the house, or settling in with a good bone to chew. Cuddles are always welcome, too. She hasn’t met children yet, but her foster believes she’d do well with older kids who can respect her shy, sometimes timid nature. Her foster describes her as friendly, adaptable, happy, playful, and quiet. Despite her young age, she has a calm maturity about her—her favorite pastime is curling up right next to her people for a nap after a little toy time. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who balances play with plenty of snuggles, this sweet girl might just be the perfect fit for your family. Her adoption fee is $300  plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Jangles is a male Lab mix puppy (possibly with some Shepherd mixed in) born on 11/27/25. He is playful and fun, but equally known for his love of naps. Jangles often falls asleep in anyone’s arms and seems perfectly content snoozing wherever he lands. He has been exposed to cats and reacts appropriately. Jangles would be a great fit for a family that wants a puppy with a playful side and an impressive ability to relax and cuddle. His minimum adoption donation is $350. A $100 non-refundable deposit will be requested by your processor once you are approved. This deposit will hold him until he is available for adoption, on 1/23/26. He will be neutered prior to adoption, has been microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at: http://fs16.formsite.com/WishBoneCanineRescue/adoptionapplication/index.html For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm  Wish Bone Canine Rescue  1303 Morrissey Drive Bloomington, IL 61701 www.wishbonecaninerescue.org           Since its our desire that you have a pet you can enjoy a lifetime of love with you, we take special measures to ensure that the pet is the best match for you and your family.  We require that you complete our online www.wishbonecaninerescue.org (Please give us 24 hours to verify your information). After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!
