Story
Name: Archer Breed Guess: Lab mix Age: 4 months old on 10/1/25 Gender: Male Adult Weight Guess: 40-70 pounds Adoption fee: $395 plus a $50 refundable deposit Am I good with: Children: Yes, puppies need proper introductions Cats: Yes, puppies need proper introductions Dogs: Yes, Meet and Greet Required About Me: Archer is a sweet, happy, and playful pup who’s full of love and curiosity. He’s already working on his leash, potty, and crate training, but his future family should be ready to keep up the good work as he grows. This brave little guy came in with a bad case of rickets, but with lots of care and proper nutrition, he’s made an incredible recovery. To keep him feeling his best, Archer will need to stay on joint supplements for life, and his adopters should be prepared for the possibility of arthritis as he gets older. Despite his rough start, Archer’s bright spirit and loving heart shine through, he’s ready to keep moving forward into a happy, healthy life. This dog has been at ARP since 8/24/25 - The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan

Name: Reba Age: 7 Years Gender: Female Weight: 50 pounds Breed: Lab Mix Adoption Fee: $250 Am I good with: Kids: 16+ Cats: We Can Test Upon Request Dogs: Yes, Meet and Greet Required About Me: Hi, I'm Reba, and right now, I'm a little lost. Life hasn't been easy, and I'm scared and shut down. I'm not aggressive, just unsure and overwhelmed by everything around me. What I need most is a quiet, patient home where someone is willing to show me that love can be gentle and safe. I am heartworm positive, but treatment is covered, and so is my hope for a second chance. I don't deserve to spend my golden years in a kennel. I deserve a chance to heal, to trust, and to finally feel at home. I have been at the ARP since 6/29/25 and I am currently located at the ARP.
