Story
I’ve had Theo since he was born. He was one of the puppies in my other dogs litter and he has been nothing but one of the most amazing dogs I’ve ever had. unfortunately roughly a years ago, he developed food aggression, and I have two other large dogs in the house that he can’t associate with any longer. He has only ever shown aggression towards dogs, and unfortunately, due to my circumstances, I know I’m no longer the best home for him and I want the best. He is fully crate trained potty trained. He’s so good at going on walks that he doesn’t even really need a leash. (still put him in one).he does have so much energy that I simply don’t have the time to care for him. He needs to go on walks or be played with each day for him to fully sleep through the night. The best possible home for my baby is going to be one with no other animals and with an owner who will have time to show him the attention he deserves. The adoption fee is just to prove to me that you are fully committed.

Story
Meet Spanky!Spanky is an 8 month old, Neutered Male, Labrador/Terrier mix. Spanky is an adorable chocolate boy who is looking for a family ready for a nice walk and a cuddle. Although he's a medium sized dog, he thinks he's a lap dog! He loves a leisurely walk and time with his people. Spanky has done well with other dogs but we recommend a meet and greet with potential canine siblings before adoption. He has tested well with cats and seems to respect their boundaries. He should also do well with kids as long as they are ready to play and cuddle!Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationWe recommend puppy classes for all of our puppies. Puppy classes are great way for your pup to meet other dogs, build confidence, and learn proper manners. Always keep training positive, rewarding, and fun. We focus on rewarding good behavior and building trust. No shock collars, prong collars, or choke chains needed. The more positive experiences a puppy has now, the more likely they will grow into a happy, well adjusted adult dog.If your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. We cannot place animals on hold to come pick up for another day.All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Orion is returning to Last Day Dog Rescue and needs a safe and warm place to land. He Loves the company of adults and would thrive is a calm and predictable environment. Orion would do best in a house with adults and older children, and as the only pet in the home. He is also fully potty trained and crate trained. Orion is a faithful companion with a lot of love to give and needs an experienced dog owner who understands his needs and provides him with patience and attention. Orion would love a backyard with a tall fence where he can zoom, explore, and entertain himself.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. March 28, 2026, 1:26 am

Story
Mimi, Sally and Magic are all siblings that were found and an abandoned house in the summer. They are considered bonded but can be separated however, if someone wanted to adopt two of them, I would suggest Mimi and Sally as they are the most bonded. Mimi is very curious and prefers the indoors more than the other two. She’s pretty calm and well behaved in the house, although they are all young dogs and like to get into things occasionally like tearing up dog blankets and towels if they can get their paws on them. They are all very highly motivated and can get pretty excited around mealtime. When they have been to pet's bar, people have commented how calm and well behaved they are however they can get pretty rowdy outside running and playing in the field, very sweet natured with good temperament. I would say they are for the most part house trained. There has been only one accident in the house from the three of them in three months, but they spend a lot of time outdoors. An adapter would need to know that they were definitely may need some close supervision in the house at first. These dogs are being fostered in the south but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
Two words to describe magic would be regal and reserved. This beautiful girl is elegant calm and sweet natured. Best guest as to breed mix would be Labrador retriever and possibly Weimeraner or coonhound. She definitely has an excellent nose and tendency to want to track small animals. Due to her excellent climbing ability, she would need to have a privacy fence or perhaps hotwired fence . Would make a great dog for many people because she does not jump up and does not bark much at all.

Story
Sally, Mimi and Magic were all found in the summer at an abandoned house. Sally and Mimi are almost identical, except Mimi has whiter on her. Magic looks to have had a different father that had some hound in him. They are all bonded to each other but can be adopted separately. However, if someone wanted to adopt more than one, I would recommend Sally and Mimi. Magic is a bit more independent. Sally is the leader of the bunch and the most outgoing, silly and fun and loves belly rubs. I would say they are for the most part house trained. There has been only one accident in the house from the three of them in three months, but they spend a lot of time outdoors.
