Story
Paulie is a sweet, easygoing pup with a calm and relaxed personality. He enjoys the simple things in life and is happiest when he’s spending time with his people. While he has a laid-back nature, Paulie also has a playful side that comes out when he’s feeling comfortable and having fun. One of Paulie’s biggest strengths is that he’s very food motivated, which can be a great help in training. He shows no signs of food aggression and responds well to gentle direction. Paulie may need a little extra time, patience, and consistency as he continues learning, but with encouragement and positive reinforcement, he has all the makings of a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a loving pup with a calm demeanor and a playful spark, Paulie may be the perfect addition to your family. Adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Meet Duke, a 4-month-old, 27-pound Labrador Retriever mix with a happy, affectionate personality and a serious love for being near his people. Duke is crate trained, doing very well with potty training, and already knows how to sit. He is smart, eager to learn, and highly treat motivated, which should make continued training fun and rewarding. He has gentle manners, soft paws, and an adorable little nub tail that seems to be wagging more often than not. He enjoys spending time outside and takes his yard-inspection duties very seriously—every corner deserves a good sniff. Duke also loves being close to his people, whether that means relaxing on the couch, hanging out around the house, or following along for whatever the day brings. Duke does well with other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends. He is also good with kids and would love a home where he can truly be part of the family. He may even alert you when another dog is nearby—and he has already appointed himself head of household security when the vacuum comes out. Duke is a sweet, social, and playful young dog with a lot of love to give. He is looking for a family who will continue helping him learn, grow, and become the wonderful companion he is already well on his way to being. Dukes adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Harmie is a playful, energetic pup with a joyful spirit and lots of love to give. She takes her time at mealtime and is non-food aggressive, showing a gentle and easygoing nature. Harmie is currently learning to sit, and with continued practice, she’ll keep building on her training nicely. She already has excellent recall and comes promptly when called, which is a wonderful foundation for continued learning. Like many young puppies, potty training is still a work in progress, so she’ll do best with a patient adopter who can help her stay consistent and confident. Harmie would make a fun and loving companion for someone ready for puppy play, training, and cuddles. Adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. Story
Teddy Bear is a very sweet and cuddly dog, that’s where she gets her name. We got her young and we could tell she had some anxiety issues; we learned that her previous owner had physically harmed her and she was not at a good weight. We’re hoping she can find a loving home, but we wish we could keep her as one of us isn’t physically able to keep up with her and the other works a lot.Teddy Bear is:• Sweet, cuddly, and loves to snuggle• High energy and requires physical exertion• Good with cats and often snuggles with them• Taking medication to help manage her anxiety• Afraid of men and not fond of kids (though she can get used to frequent visitors)She requires a good amount of attention and physical activity to feel her best. She is an anxious but very sweet dog who needs an experienced, patient owner to help her feel safe and secure.💰 Rehoming fee: $0

Story
Meet Booker: Looking for a Confident Leader 2 Years Old | Pro-Cuddler | High Potential Booker is a handsome 2-year-old who didn’t get the typical "puppy starter pack." Having spent his first year in a majority outside shelter, he’s still figuring out the ropes of being a family dog. He’s made incredible progress in his foster home, and now he’s looking for a dog-savvy, adult-only home that enjoys the rewarding work of guiding a resilient dog. The Perfect Match Booker is a "follow the leader" kind of guy. He is happiest when he’s with a confident handler who can make the big decisions for him. When he knows his human has the situation under control, he can finally let his guard down and just relax. He’s looking for a partner who understands dog body language and is happy to be his advocate in the world. Safety & Boundaries Because Booker is still learning how to handle his big feelings, he’s not afraid to use his teeth to ask for space when he feels overwhelmed. For this reason, he’s looking for a family that is pro-muzzle. He’s already a total champ with his muzzle and wears it on outings like a pro! His new owners should be comfortable continuing this routine in busy or new places to keep him feeling secure and successful. The Sweet Side Once you’re in Booker’s "inner circle," he is the ultimate companion: • The Best Cuddler: He loves a good movie marathon on the couch and is a world-class snuggler. • A Growing Socialite: While he warms up to women a bit faster, he’s learned that guys can be pretty great, too! • Animal Friends: He’s currently living peacefully with cats and most other dogs. • The Basics: He’s fully vaccinated, house-trained, and ready for a structured routine. Booker isn’t just looking for a house; he’s looking for a mentor. If you’re a confident handler who loves seeing a dog's potential turn into reality, Booker is ready to meet you! Booker's adoption fee is $400 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Meet Frankie Boy! This 1-year-old, 65-pound Lab mix arrived at the shelter after a pretty crazy adventure. Frankie originally wandered onto a farm as a stray where he decided to make friends with the resident dogs and even attempting to join the horses for a little gallop! The horses weren`t quite as amused as Frankie was, and the family who found him knew he deserved a home of his own, so they brought him to the shelter.Frankie is a ball of energy and sweetness! He’s a great adventure partner who loves chasing toys and will happily sit for treats. Once he`s tuckered out he loves to cuddle and give kisses. Since coming to the shelter he`s shown us that he`s pretty potty trained! While he did some marking when he first arrived and has the occasional accident, he has settled in a lot since being neutered and will do even better in a home environment with a routine.Frank likes some other pups but can be a bit reactive and picky when first meeting new friends. If you have a dog at home, we’d love to have a slow meet and greet at the shelter to make sure they’re good to go!Frank is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
