Story
Markus' estimated DOB is 05/15/2019 and he's a black Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix. He was found in Mark Twain National Forest. He was terrified and didn't understand where he was - a few different families had been rotating feeding him for days until someone decided to see if he'd hop into their truck. Markus instantly knew to load up, and the rest is history! Markus has the potential to make a really great pet for just the right home. He has some barrier-aggression tendencies in the shelter environment, but a family took a chance on him and brought him home. While he was with that family, we learned that Markus bonds very strongly with his one person and he is very protective of that person. The perks of Markus are that he's already potty trained, walks great on a leash, loves car rides, doesn't make messes and is great at keeping himself busy as long as he has a toy. He loves to be involved with what you are doing and especially loves to play ball & will even bring it back! Markus's ideal forever home would allow him to be the only dog in an adult only home, he does get along with cats. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.

Story
Big Bear is a staff and volunteer favorite. Sadly, Big Bear has been in the shelter for a very long time. Only because he needs to be the only pet in the home. He is blind in one eye and may be startled by sudden movements from other pets or small children. He loves to play with his football, belly rubs and loves treats. He is excellent on a leash and enjoys walks and sitting with his people. He is a super sweet boy who would love to find a forever home to enjoy his senior years. Are you interested in giving this adorable fur baby a forever home? Complete your application at www.havenoftheozarks.org/adopt and come out to meet our pets any day between 9 AM - 4 PM. No appointment needed. Feel free to email havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com with questions. All of our pets are fixed, microchipped and current on vaccinations before going home.

Story
Max West is an animated guy who arrived with his sister, Vlad, after their lifelong owner passed away. Max is a tan colored labrador and weighs 63 pounds. Max would love to find his forever home soon. He can get along with other dogs, but a slow introduction would be important, if not just being the only dog in the home. Max also is not a fan on cats. Max loves to play with toys and is very energetic for his age. He loves attention, belly rubs, walks, eating and observing things around him. He is house trained but needs frequent potty breaks. All our pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open from 9 am to 4 pm, seven days a week. No appointment is necessary for adopters. For more information, please email havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com. To save time at the shelter, complete your adoption application at www.havenoftheozarks.org/adopt.
