Shelter FAQs

In 1978 a group of neighbors got together to provide foster homes and find families for the ever-increasing number of stray animals roaming the Tri-Lakes area. As the program grew, it became apparent that a shelter facility was necessary. After ten years of fund raising, the Tri-Lakes Humane Society opened in June, 1988! We are a no-kill 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides temporary shelter for stray and abandoned animals while seeking to find them permanent homes. We receive no state or local funding and rely solely on public donations. Interested in donating? Check out the various ways below! We try to take most animals from Stone County and Taney County. All our animals are spayed and neutered before adoption.
