Story
Dallas is an 8-year-old, 78-pound sweetheart whose world was completely turned upside down. After spending his entire life in a home, he was surrendered to a crowded shelter, not because of anything he did, but simply because his owner no longer wanted to care for him. With shelters overwhelmed, Dallas was placed on the euthanasia list, a fate that far too many good dogs face, and one that truly breaks our hearts. Despite everything he’s been through, Dallas remains calm, affectionate, and incredibly gentle. He gets along well with other dogs and adores people. His current caregiver describes him as an absolute joy. He is low maintenance, easygoing, and full of quiet love. Dallas is a sweet, laid-back senior boy who deserves a safe spot to land and a family that will never give up on him again. **We are unable to respond to inquiries on Adopt-A-Pet. If you are interested in adopting Dallas, please fill out the adoption application at phpdr.org/adopt and email it to dogs@peoplehelpingpaws.org

Story
Lucy is a beautiful 4-year-old Labrador Retriever with a gentle soul and a loving heart. We welcomed Lucy into our family two years ago after rehoming her from another family, and she has brought us immense joy ever since. Lucy is affectionate, loyal, and deeply bonded to her people. She is wonderful with children and friendly with other pets. She enjoys companionship, calm routines, and being close to her humans. While she does well with most dogs, she can become a bit anxious around large dogs, so a home with calm pets or as an only dog may be ideal. Lucy is not a fetch-lover, but she enjoys walks, lounging nearby, and simply being part of daily life. She thrives in a peaceful, loving environment. Due to changes in our family health needs and upcoming relocations, we are seeking a stable, forever home where Lucy can receive the consistency and attention she deserves. Lucy is a truly special dog, and we hope to find a home that will love her as deeply as she loves in return.

Story
Miles is an exceptionally good boy. He wants to please and be around his people but isn't clingy, he's good at going on walks, is a quick learner, and doesn't bark a ton (and when he does, he can be quieted). It is so heartbreaking to rehome him, but he just desperately wants to be an only child. The only reason we are rehoming is that he is territorial and reactive towards our other animals. He has been good around children when they've visited our home, but hasn't been around them consistently, so would be hesitant to have him in a home with young children. Some of our favorite things he does: hops in excitement at the backdoor, gives "hugs" on demand, offers his paw to you to just hold hands with you, is scared of random objects (like cantaloupes, feathers), likes to lay upside-down, looks forward to car rides, doesn't rip up his stuffed toys, loves kissing the neighbor dog through the fence, and so many more things. We just want a good home for our good boy.
