Story
Stella is the sweetest girl. She is a bit shy at first, but once she is comfortable she is a playful puppy. She is good with other dogs and cats. Would do best in a home with older kids and someone around more often than not. She is working on leash, potty and crate training. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.

Story
Hi! I'm Zeus! Intake type: Seized DOB: 10/30/21 I am a sweet but slightly bashful fella looking for a loving family to call my own. Once I get to know you, I will burst with personality and show you just how fun and loving I truly am! I enjoy spending time with my people, getting lots of pets, playing with my toys, and being told how handsome I am. My energy level is a happy medium. I'm not too crazy or too lazy. I'd be content with a calm walk around the block or a brisk hike on your favorite trail! In my previous home, I lived with several other pups, however some of us did not get along very well. And even though I do enjoy playing with what other pups I have met so far here at HAHS, my shelter family feels it's best that I go to a home without any other pups as I do tend to resource guard my humans from the other pups in the home. It is important that my new family understands and is open and willing to work with a professional trainer on managing /breaking this little habit of mine so it does not lead to any additional unwanted behaviors down the road. My shelter family thinks I would do best in a home with older kiddos 12+ who are able to understand and respect my boundaries as I'm a little nervous with fast movements, but once im comfortable with any kiddos, ill be thwir best friend! As always, if you have kiddos or other pups at home, a meet and greet will be required to be sure that we can get along! Do you think I could be a perfect fit for you? Story
What can we say about Burt? You know a dog is special when your canine manager falls in love and wants to take him home! But, she's graciously decided to allow all of you the chance to love this handsome boy! Burt is a 2-year-old lab/shepherd/hound mix (to the best of our knowledge). Burt is a little nervous around new people, but once he gets a second to sniff you out and trust that you're nice, you've got a friend for life. He's described as a loving and loyal companion who is a fast learner and aims to please, and once he gets comfortable, he's a carefree, happy-go-lucky boy! He loves to play fetch with balls and frisbees, so he'd like an active home with plenty of room to run and play. He really LOVES other dogs, but still asks for a meet and greet just to be extra sure. He seems to want to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. He hasn't had much exposure to little kids, but getting him used to new things and experiences in a safe and patient environment would be key. Burt is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions. >> PA kennel license #04944

Story
My name is Bear and I arrived at the shelter as a lost and found dog with my son Diesel. I am a chocolate lab who came in with some very bad skin...I was missing a lot of my fur and I was looking pretty rough and my ears were infected. I was one hot mess!!! Happy to say the shelter staff have been taking good care of me and my skin is greatly improving. I am a very happy guy...obviously love my son Diesel - we are soooo connected! We are a bonded pair and we need to be adopted together.

Story
My name is Olaf and I am a young guy about a year and a half. I arrived at the shelter as part of a neglect case, so I am underweight ....but staff are working to help me gain weight and learn what it means to have people who really care about me. I am looking forward to a new leash on life....where I am loved and properly cared for...I am ready to forget the past and start a new chapter in my life

I arrived at the shelter with my dad Bear - not sure how we got loose or if we were dumped. I am a very big boy ...almost 100lbs and I have a big block head! I have a big bark, but I am a big baby and I absolutely love being with my dad. We are a bonded pair and we need to be adopted together.
