Story
Adoption fee can be waived for the right family! We believe Luca is a Lab mix and expect him to be somewhere between 1-2 years old. He is a sweet and loving dog, but we are looking to rehome him as we will have two young kids and feel he would be happiest and thrive in an adult-only home. He is a very high-energy dog who thrives on activity and going for walks. He is smart and driven but is happiest with structure and plenty of exercise. He would do really well with an experienced dog owner. He is crate trained and does great through a normal 8-10 hour work day, or overnight. And he is up to date on vaccines and vet records can be provided upon request.

Story
Hi! I'm Auggie! Intake type: Stray DOB: Gender: male Weight: 66 lbs Happy, fun, energetic, and goofy. All qualities that describe me! I am a big, bouncy boy who loves to romp and play to my hearts content! I have tons of energy to burn, and I am on the search for someone who loves to play just as much as I do! I love all types of toys and will keep myself entertained with just about anything. I'm not picky at all, but my all-time favorite toys are long rope toys with or without extra goodies on them, tennis balls, and water sprinklers! I really love running through sprinklers and chomping at the water! My shelter family thinks I may enjoy swimming, or at least splashing around in puddles! I love to meet new people, but sometimes I forget how big and strong I am, and I haven't quite figured out that I shouldn't jump all over people when I'm happy to see them! My shelter fam says I would really benefit from taking some doggy obedience classes and working with a trainer to help improve things like my leash manners (I think my leash is a tug toy... apparently, it's not, lol) so I can be the goodest boy! I have not been around any 2 legged kiddos yet, but my shelter family says a home with older, more rugged kiddos 12+ would probably be best as i may knock littles over. I absolutely love other pups, and would be so happy to have another doggo to play with in my new home! My shelter family feels a home without kitties or smaller critters or feathery friends is best for me! As always, a meet and greet is required if there are kiddos or other pups in the home to make sure we can get along! If you think i may sound like a good match, please submit an application! https://www.hornellanimalshelter.org/Adoptionprocessandfees

Story
Hi! I’m Jax! Intake type: Transfer from Town of Independence DCO D.O.B: 1/30/21 Gender: male Breed: lab mix Weight: 69 lbs I'm a happy-go-lucky guy with a big heart and a head that’s even bigger. Seriously, I've got a big ole dome, but that just means there’s more surface area for kisses! I may be the new kid in the kennels, but I’ve already been deemed the resident beefcake. I’m pretty much the dog version of (insert your favorite beefcake athlete's name), but with a bit more muscle and way more s-WAG 😎 I’d love an active family who can help me maintain my professional athlete physique and keep me in tip-top shape. I’m down for just about anything, brisk walks around the neighborhood, trail runs, or mountain treks. Once we've conquered the great outdoors, I'd love nothing more than to cool down and relax with my favorite humans! I’m a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and making new k-9 friends. I love having another pup who I can run sprints and tackle dummy drills with. If I'm being honest, it's probably my favorite way to spend the day! I have not been around any human kiddos yet, but my shelter family thinks I'd probably enjoy having some 2 legged pals to hang with. Now, I'll admit, I sometimes forget what an absolute unit I am, and I may or may not move through life like a happy bulldozer at times. With that being said, if you have kids, they should probably be the "rugged" variety who don't mind an accidental nudge from time to time! As always, a meet and greet is required if you have other dogs or kids at home to make sure we can be the ultimate team. If you’re looking to add a little more muscle and a lot more love to your life, I’m your guy! https://www.hornellanimalshelter.org/Adoptionprocessandfees

Story
My name is Olaf and I am a young guy about a year and a half and I am a Lab/Husky/Shep mix. I arrived at the shelter as part of a neglect case, so I am underweight ....but staff are working to help me gain weight and learn what it means to have people who really care about me. I am looking forward to a new leash on life....where I am loved and properly cared for...I am ready to forget the past and start a new chapter in my life.

Story
My name is Bear and I arrived at the shelter as a lost and found dog with my son Diesel. I am a chocolate lab who came in with some very bad skin...I was missing a lot of my fur and I was looking pretty rough and my ears were infected. I was one hot mess!!! Happy to say the shelter staff have been taking good care of me and my skin is greatly improving. I am a very happy guy...obviously love my son Diesel - we are soooo connected! We are a bonded pair and we need to be adopted together.
