Story
Stella is the sweetest girl. She is a bit shy at first, but once she is comfortable she is a playful puppy. She is good with other dogs and cats. Would do best in a home with older kids and someone around more often than not. She is working on leash, potty and crate training. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.

Story
Hi there, I'm Gravity!I might not keep your feet on the ground, but I’ll definitely keep you on your toes! I’m a big ol’ one-year-old goofball with loads of puppy energy and a whole lot of love to give. I was adopted as a tiny pup but recently found myself back at the shelter — no hard feelings, though! I'm just hoping this time around I find my forever home.I’m the kind of dog who’s always up for an adventure — hikes, fetch, tug-of-war, or zoomies in the yard — count me in! I’d do best with someone who’s excited to help me burn off all this energy and teach me how to be the best boy I know I can be. I’m still learning the ropes, but with a little training and a lot of play, I’ll be your loyal sidekick in no time.If you’re looking for a big, bouncy best friend to keep you active and make you laugh every day, I might just be your guy. Come meet me and let’s see if we’re meant to orbit each other forever!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Luigi is a young black Lab mix with movie-star looks and a personality that just keeps getting better the more you know him. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a bit of time and reassurance and—boom!—out comes the sweetest, silliest, most loyal best friend you could ask for. Once Luigi trusts you, he’s all about tail wags, happy hops, and sticking close to his favorite humans. This gentle guy loves people and does wonderfully with other dogs. In fact, Luigi would absolutely love a home with a canine sibling to help build his confidence and show him how great life can be. Whether it’s playtime in the yard, neighborhood walks, or cozy naps, Luigi is happiest when he has a buddy by his side.

Story
What can we say about Burt? You know a dog is special when your canine manager falls in love and wants to take him home! But, she's graciously decided to allow all of you the chance to love this handsome boy! Burt is a 2-year-old lab/shepherd/hound mix (to the best of our knowledge). Burt is a little nervous around new people, but once he gets a second to sniff you out and trust that you're nice, you've got a friend for life. He's described as a loving and loyal companion who is a fast learner and aims to please, and once he gets comfortable, he's a carefree, happy-go-lucky boy! He loves to play fetch with balls and frisbees, so he'd like an active home with plenty of room to run and play. He really LOVES other dogs, but still asks for a meet and greet just to be extra sure. He seems to want to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. He hasn't had much exposure to little kids, but getting him used to new things and experiences in a safe and patient environment would be key. Burt is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions. >> PA kennel license #04944

Story
Joey is about 4yrs old. We were told he was found as a stray with road rash and scars on his back end. Owner was unable to be found. We took him in about 2 years ago. He is a very loyal dog and protective of his family. He loves attention and bonds quickly with women and kids; however, he can be timid of men. He is not your typical black lab mix. He isn't constantly hyper and energetic. He doesn't like chaos. He'd rather lounge, take walk/rides with his family. He really is a good dog who just wants to love and protect his family/person. He would do fine in a home with female or possibly a submissive male dog, however, he'd do best in a home where he was the only dog. He can be aggressive with other male dogs, a reason we need to rehome. He currently is consistently marking in the house, is the other reason. We recently moved and it has brought back these behavior issues we have already worked through, and now we have a small baby and limited schedules to do it again. Good home only!
