Adoption fee is $130 which includes spay/neuter, combo, rabies, and bordetella vaccines, heartworm test and dog license. (Although some of the dogs come to the pound spayed or neutered, most do not. If you adopt a dog that has not yet been spayed/neutered, we will set up an appointment for the dog to be spayed/neutered before it can leave the facility.

Two years ago, MIDNIGHT’s world changed when his owner passed away. Then last week MIDNIGHT’s world crashed again when the man who had stepped in to care for him suddenly passed away. MIDNIGHT remained in the home with him for at least a week until someone realized he hadn’t been seen in awhile. At 9 years old, MIDNIGHT now finds himself at the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH starting all over again looking for that soft landing. We don’t know a whole lot about this boy except for what we’ve observed since he’s been with us. He’s a gentle, easy going dog who is pretty chill. He’s used to the comforts of home and loves the fluffy bed in his kennel. He loves going for walks to explore and enjoys sitting in the sun. MIDNIGHT lived with a small dog so we know he does well with them, but we don’t know how he’ll do with larger dogs. He also lived with multiple cats so felines must make good friends. He’s met some high school students while at the pound and hung out with them, but we don’t know about little kids so a meetngreet with your 2 and 4 legged kids will be required. Harrison County Dog Pound. 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43950. Open: Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays. Wally, born 5/20/26, weighs 20 lbs & is a Lab/hound mix. He likes other dogs, cats, and has been around kids.  Wally is participating in the cell dog program which is where the dog stays at the prison with a dog handler working on basic obedience and house, crate, and leash training. It’s an amazing program!
