Story
Hazel ✨ 4 years old | Loyal | Ready for forever Hazel is the kind of dog who loves deeply once you’re hers. She’s affectionate, playful, loyal, and happiest simply being near her people. The kind of companion who will follow you from room to room just because she loves being part of your world. And at 4 years old? She’s past the chaos and into the sweet spot: ✔️ Housebroken ✔️ Crate trained ✔️ Leash trained ✔️ Excellent in the car ✔️ Professional cuddle enthusiast Hazel can be selective with other dogs, and honestly? After everything she’s been through, we don’t blame her. She may do well with the right respectful canine companion, or she may be happiest soaking up all the love as your one-and-only. What matters most is this: Hazel has waited patiently for someone to choose her. Not for a weekend. Not until something “easier” comes along. Forever. If you’ve been looking for a loyal best friend with a huge heart and so much love left to give, Hazel is right here waiting.

Sol may mean sun, but she’s looking for someone to be the center of her universe. Returned through no fault of her own, it’s easy to see she’s been well loved and checks all the boxes: ✔️Calm, gentle soul ✔️ Adores kids ✔️ Recognizes the cat as the queen of the house ✔️ House trained with excellent manners Sure, she may not love the crate, but at 6, she’s good enough that she can be left unattended. Unfortunately, she is undergoing heartworm treatment but is available for adoption through Legacy of Hope.

Story
We lie to Mordecai. A lot. Well… maybe we just don’t correct him. Things like, “You’re absolutely lap-sized,” or, “Personal space is overrated.” Little white lies. We just don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise. We do try to explain that the 4-pound Yorkie does not want to wrestle with him. Mordecai remains unconvinced. Why wouldn’t everyone want to play? Unfortunately, the dogs in his foster home are a bunch of fuddy-duddies. Morty is desperately hoping for a canine friend who appreciates a good old-fashioned wrestling match. He loves fetch, playing “search,” and hanging out with his people, but nothing beats puppy playtime with another dog. And then there are the snuggles. Morty believes there is no such thing as being too big for your lap. He wants to curl up beside you, drape himself across your legs, rest his head on your shoulder, and snore directly into your ear. His only flaw? He’s smack in the middle of that awkward teenage puppy stage and has absolutely no idea where those giant paws are going. (Our sincerest apologies to the men. 😬) He would do well with kids, but keep in mind he’s a goofy, oversized puppy. Tiny humans may occasionally get knocked over… entirely out of enthusiasm. The ground is still the ground. Cats? That depends entirely on the cat. If the cat confidently tells him to knock it off, Morty will probably flop onto his back in surrender. He’s wonderfully submissive. Big, scary dogs? Fine. The previously mentioned Yorkie? Terrifying. Balloons? Suspicious. Mops? Absolutely not. Morty rolls over for just about everything. Mordecai is a 5-month-old Pit Bull/Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix. He’s neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to find a family that appreciates a giant-hearted, goofy puppy who loves hard, plays hard, and has never met a lap he didn’t think belonged to him. His adoption fee is $250.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Coco lived her whole life outside under a abandoned house. Concerned neighbors contacted us about her after realizing she was pregnant. It took us two weeks to finally get her, but unfortunately it was too late, She had all 9 puppies and not one of them made it. Once getting her into our shelter she's slowly coming out of her shell. At first she would not go out to go potty we had to wheel her out on a trolly back and fourth, terrified she would just hide in the back of her kennel. We put her on an antidepressant and after a week or so of that we decided to take her outside with other dogs and we saw a completely different side of her. She lit up and was so happy to have a friend. Coco is still frightened when its time to walk outside but is getting better, once she's out there, she runs around and plays like a little deer. She has become our new dog testing dog because she has that good mama dog energy. Even though she is very scared she has no aggression and will never ever bite no matter how frightened she is, you can pick her up and handle her in anyway. Her funny awkward personality will need such a special home but I believe once she's around other dogs she will truly blossom. Coco would make an amazing dog for anyone that wants a low energy easy animal who is super dog and cat friendly.
