Sweet and Shy Phil Needs a Loving Home Phil is an incredibly sweet boy who is a bit shy but full of love to give. He adores attention and loves to snuggle up and watch TV with you all day long! Phil gets along wonderfully with other dogs and thrives in the company of a playful, friendly canine companion. Having just graduated from our Paws-In-Prison program, Phil has learned all kinds of manners and obedience. He completed two sessions to help him overcome his shyness. While he has made great progress, he remains timid and would benefit from a calm, understanding home that has the patience and time to help him explore the world and overcome his shyness. **Phil Needs:** - A calm environment - A second playful dog in the home - Older kids, calm kids, or no kids - A physical fenced yard due to his shyness Phil was extensively socialized as a pup, but he remains shy despite this. However, his lovable Labrador traits shine through! **Phil's Traits:** - Sweet - Goofy - Food motivated - LOVES people - Playful - Good with dogs - Loves water Phil is ready to find a family that will understand and cherish his gentle nature. Phil's adoption fee has been waived for the right home! Story
Benson (Paws in Prison Graduate) Benson is extremely fun loving and an all round happy boy! He recently graduated from our Paws in Prison Program and has a TON of obedience skills under his belt. -sit -lay -stay -loose leash walking -recall He is a very quick learner and also knows some tricks (shake, high five etc.). He is housebroken and crate trained. He is gentle, yet playful. His personality cannot be beat. He is great with other dogs and would love a playmate in his new home. He ignores cats and listens well to "leave it" if need be. He is also great with kids (however, he is still a puppy so he may get excited). He loves to learn, reads dog language very well, is very responsive to people and his commands, and loves to explore new things. *If you would like a puppy in your life who is an amazing catch, Benson is the one for you! The information we were provided was that his mom was a purebred chocolate Labrador Retriever and dad was unknown. Be sure to visit our Facebook page for additional pictures and updates on our rescues: Canine Partners Program Inc Please note: We cannot guarantee breed or breed mix, as our information is often limited to what is observed or shared by a previous owner. Once completed, the adoption is finalized. Each adoption includes a 6-week group obedience class (a $125 value). NINA This girl is a social butterfly! Dogs, people...they're all her friends! Story
❤️ Aspen: An Old Soul in a Young Dog’s Body ❤️ Some dogs learn commands. Some dogs learn routines. And then there are the rare dogs like Aspen, who seem to understand people. Aspen is a young Labrador Retriever mix who recently graduated from our Paws in Prison training program, where he mastered far more than basic obedience. He’s crate trained, house trained, wonderful with other dogs, great with children, and even gets along with cats. His manners are exceptional, and he has the calm confidence of a dog far beyond his age. But what truly makes Aspen special can’t be taught. He has an incredible ability to read human emotions. Time and time again, we’ve watched Aspen quietly gravitate toward people who are having a difficult moment. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed, emotional, or simply needs a comforting presence beside them, Aspen seems to instinctively know. He doesn’t demand attention. He simply offers it. For such a young dog, Aspen has what we like to call an old soul. While he’s still a puppy and enjoys playing, he isn’t the nonstop whirlwind many people expect from a young Labrador mix. Instead, he has a naturally laid-back personality that’s easy to live with. He’s happy to join you for an adventure, but he’s just as content relaxing by your side afterward. Aspen has completed professional obedience training through our prison program and has proven himself to be an eager learner who truly enjoys working with his person. He already understands that listening is rewarding, making the transition into his forever home much easier. Because of his remarkable sensitivity to people and his calm, intuitive nature, we believe Aspen has all the qualities to become an outstanding therapy dog. While we can’t guarantee that path, we certainly believe he has the heart for it. If you’re looking for more than just a dog… If you’re hoping for a loyal companion who notices the quiet moments, offers comfort without being asked, and wants nothing more than to be your partner through life’s ups and downs… Aspen may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. He isn’t just looking for a family. He’s looking for someone to take care of. ⸻ 🐾 How to Apply Visit our website at www.caninepartnersprograminc.org, click on the Adoptable Animals tab, then click on the photo of the animal you are interested in. Story
❤️ River: Life’s Better When You Have a Best Friend ❤️ Some puppies are content watching the world go by. River? He’d much rather be right in the middle of it, making friends wherever he goes. River is a young Labrador Retriever mix who recently graduated from our Paws in Prison training program, where he learned all the important life skills every puppy should know. He’s house trained, crate trained, wonderful with other dogs, great with children, cat friendly, and has completed professional obedience training. He’s the kind of puppy who is always happy to meet someone new. Whether it’s people, another dog, or a new adventure, River approaches life with a wagging tail, a bright smile, and the confidence that everyone is just another friend he hasn’t met yet. While River and his brother Aspen share the same wonderful foundation and excellent manners, River’s personality shines in a different way. He’s the social butterfly of the two. Outgoing, cheerful, and full of youthful enthusiasm, he has a way of making every day feel just a little more fun. Don’t let his friendly personality fool you, though. River isn’t a wild puppy bouncing off the walls. Thanks to his training, he already understands how to settle, listen, and work with his person. He’s eager to please, quick to learn, and has the kind of temperament that makes him a joy to live with. Whether you’re looking for a walking buddy, a hiking partner, a family dog, or simply a loyal best friend, River is ready to jump into whatever adventure comes next. He has all the wonderful qualities people hope to find in a Labrador mix… affectionate, intelligent, playful, and incredibly people-oriented… with the added bonus of already having the training that many puppies are just beginning to learn. River is ready to trade his prison graduation certificate for something even better… A family to call his own. ⸻ 🐾 How to Apply Visit our website at www.caninepartnersprograminc.org, click on the Adoptable Animals tab, then click on the photo of the animal you are interested in.
