Story
Moose is a 5 year old cattle dog/ husky mix. This poor boy has been looking for his forever home since September 2017. Moose is the volunteer favorite because of his energetic and goofball personality. Although we love this resident frat boy, he deserves a loving home with people who understand him. He would be an excellent hiking buddy and loves water. You should see him in his pool! Moose adores his people and aims to entertain them with his comedy skits.Moose is a herding dog who has a tendency to nip and grab when he is unsure of a situation. This is his genetic way to respond and he needs a breed experienced person to boost his confidence and make him feel secure. Moose needs an adult only home with no children and preferably no teenagers. Moose does not understand that friends come and go-he needs a low traffic home. His new family must understand his herding drive and behavior. Moose cannot live with cats or other small animals. He could potentially live with another dog.Moose has been let down so much by people and he has certainly waited long enough. We know there is a perfect home for him. We will be critical of any applicant as we will not let Moose be failed again. Moose is already so loved, but what he needs now is someone to provide him structure and routine. Be prepared to put in time with our adoption process as we have a strict set of required visits and a stepwise acclimation to the home.

Story
Hi there! My name is Blair and I was found in the City of Altoona as a stray and unfortunately, no one came to claim me. I am a sweet girl, but I am fearful and need a low traffic home with a family who will help to build my confidence and give me the reassurance that I need to realize that I am safe and loved. I will need an adult only home without other dogs, but I did test just fine with cats. I do have a bit of food possessive behavior, but this is easily managed by feeding me in my own space! Any visits with me do need to be scheduled in order to allow staff to provide me with the slow introductions I need in order to build trust. Please keep in mind that one visit will not be enough for me to be able to feel comfortable with anyone new and I will require multiple visits. If you think you have the time and can provide me with the proper environment, please feel free to submit an application for me or call in to speak with staff for more detail about me!

Story
Hello again. I say again because this is round two for me at CPHS. That doesn't mean I'm a bad girl, I just wasn't a good match for the family. I would do best in a home as the ONLY pet so that I can soak up all the attention. I don't care to share my food or toys so older kids please (12yrs & up). I know its a lot to ask for but there has to be someone out there that would be a good match for me. Please complete an application if you would be interested in meeting with me.

Story
I am now known as Rain. Staff's best guess is I am 3 years old. I was a stray and found with my bestie Gypsy (Husky). We definitely know each other and would LOVE to be adopted together. I can NOT live with cats and I do show some barrier aggression towards other doggies, so I prefer a home with no other animals other than my best friend Gypsy. I would do best in a home with children over the age of 12 due to my comfort level, I also can be strong on the leash and can be intense with my food. If you are interested in me and my bestie Gypsy please fill out an application today or call and speak with staff for more information.

Story
Hi! My name is Jersey and I am 5 years old. I have grown to like the staff here after some time getting used to my surroundings. I came from a not so great home so I am still learning that people are a good/positive association. On that note, I am also still learning how to play so I do not have great manners when playing with my new toys. For this reason I cannot go to a home with another dog. I did test well with cats and should do fine with children. I am a very sweet boy that won over the hearts of the staff here. If you think I could be the right guy for you, submit an application and ask staff about me today!
