Story
Carmella, smiley, happy and a tail that doesn’t stop wagging. She is sweet and friendly. She was very happy to be out in the sun and grass, met other dogs well but was more interested in having some people time. Carmella loves attention from people and is eager to interact to get some love. Currently in a foster home, she is crate trained and housebroken. She loves to play outside. She enjoys her toys. She doesn't bark very often at all except when she gets excited while playing or when her foster arrives home from work. She is good on leash. She rides good in the car. No cats please; she's too curious about them. While her current foster home has no other pets, Carmella does like other dogs. Laid-back dogs with spurts of playful energy that like to bask in the sun are Carmella's speed. Carmella loves attention and absolutely adores her humans. She will often choose to sit by her human to get belly rubs rather than running and playing with other dogs.

I like to play with other dogs, enjoy hanging out with kids, am a good car traveller and I walk pretty good on a leash. I got to go out and about Hartsville during the Paws Around the Pee Dee ♥️ Palentine event and ejoyed every minute of my adventure! I got to go on a nice long walk at Kalmia Gardens, stopped and got some treats at Purrs McBarken and was loved on by my 11 year old pal. My handler friends said I’m sweet, attentive and curious. Won’t you ask for me, Skully? I’m waiting for you in Hartsville SC, please ask for me today!

Story
Meet Elliot. This handsome boy recently enjoyed a day out around town and showed everyone what a wonderful companion he is. Elliot walks beautifully on a leash and truly walks “like a dream.” He also rides well in the car, making him a great adventure buddy. Elliot can be a little shy at first and may take a minute to warm up, but once he does, his sweet personality shines through. Volunteers describe him as an old soul who enjoys the simple things in life—nice walks, gentle company, snuggling and sitting in the sunshine. One of his favorite stops was Kalmia Gardens, where he happily explored and relaxed outdoors. If you’re looking for a calm, laid-back companion who loves peaceful walks and quiet moments, Elliot might be your perfect match. He had a sleep over with a volunteer and loved his blankets and couch time, and was a good houseguest.

Story
Chase is a 5 year old 57lb heart worm positive lab mix, owner surrender in early January, and is not doing well in the noisy shelter setting. He’s showing signs of kennel stress and his quality of life is declining. Shelter life is hard on some dogs, and especially on dogs like Chase, who knows what it’s like to have had a family. Chase is dog friendly and enjoys the kiddie pool! He’d make a great friend for a more sturdy canine that enjoys a bit of rough play. Chase takes corrections well from his canine pals and is always happy to get out into the play yard and be free of his kennel. Chase went out on a field trip and his handlers said he did a pretty good job walking on the leash. When visiting Purrs McBarkin where he was able to chose his own treat, Chase thinks soft chews are better than hard bones and enjoyed his visit. Next stop was the park where they watched the Little League playing baseball and he seemed fine with the kids petting him through the fence. Chase is such a handsome boy and he NEEDS AN ANGEL TO HELP PLEASE‼️ Ask for him ASAP, so he can find a new home.

Story
Owner surrender due to moving, Puppy is a lower energy gal who met dogs politely in play groups. She did great on her Paws Around The Pee Dee adventure, visiting lots of local businesses and making friends. Puppy LOVES kids, giving kisses out freely to them while at Wild Heart Brewery. She rode nicely in the truck, went for a nice trail walk at Kalmia Gardens and has good leash skills, and enjoyed all the yummy treats she had at Purrs McBarkin and ReTail Therapy. Her handlers for the day said she’s “loveable, friendly and happy.” Puppy knows the “sit” command, loves to snuggle and will make a great companion for someone looking for a sofa buddy.
