Story
Bailey is an absolute sweetheart! She was found as a stray out in the country which means somebody probably left her on the side of the road. She was positive for heartworm but has finished her treatment!! She loves being around people and she loves to play especially tug of rope. She is a talker and very treat motivated. She knows sit and working with her on paw and lay down. Now because of her age she still has the puppy tendencies but she loves going on walks but someone who is patient with her will be able to teach her that chasing cars is not okay. She follows my kids around the yard and plays with them and she loves the snuggles. She is incredibly smart and would make a great family dog. She is an all-around good girl who is just looking for a family to love me. If you think you could be that family, Located in North Texas, Transport fee included

Story
BABA is a sweet neutered boy but a large one at 92 pounds. He longs for the calm life of a home with people to love. Baba finds the chaos and barking at the shelter very stressful and he is always so relieved to get a chance to go out for a walk or be in the yard. He does well with one or two easy going dogs but more than that and he tends to hang around the edge of the yard and avoid everyone waiting for his chance to go back inside. Baba lived happily with a family with children until a new young pup was introduced to the home. He wasn`t into the constant demands of a puppy wanting to play and pestering him. The family decided to bring him to the shelter and now he waits for a new family to see him and give him a try. We do offer a foster to adopt trial period if you would like to give Baba a try. Rosemary

Labrador Retriever

Female, 11 yrs 1 mo

Details

Story
Rosemary is an approximately 11-year-old mixed breed dog with a gentle, quiet personality and very low energy level. DNA testing through Embark identified her as a mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Australian Cattle Dog, Golden Retriever, Chow Chow, Australian Shepherd, and Redbone Coonhound. Rosemary spent at least five years surviving as a feral street dog before finally being safely trapped and brought into rescue. During her years on the streets, she had multiple litters of puppies that were rescued while Rosemary herself remained behind due to how fearful and difficult to catch she was. With the help of local residents and a trapper, she was eventually brought to safety and received needed medical care, including heartworm treatment. Because of her history, Rosemary remains extremely fearful and skittish in new situations. She has significant lasting trauma from life on the streets and needs a patient, understanding adopter willing to give her time and space to settle into a home environment. Rosemary enjoys a calm, predictable lifestyle. Her favorite things include sunbathing, eating snacks, sleeping, and spending quiet time around other dogs. She does very well with dogs and has previously been okay with cats. Due to her fearful nature, she is not a suitable match for homes with children. Rosemary is looking for a very quiet, low-energy home with someone compassionate enough to let her adjust at her own pace and simply enjoy the comfort and safety she never had for most of her life.
