Story
Hazel Jane is a one year old spayed female mixed breed (shepherd? sighthound? lab?).  She weighs 45 pounds.  She is sweet, intuitive, and easy going.  She loves people!  Like most young dogs, she will frolic, play, and go for runs/walks joyfully.  Polly is housetrained and uses a crate when unattended.  At this point, she will settle after a bit of unhappiness from being separated from her foster family.  She is fine left uncrated at night.  A sensitive gal looking for someone to finish her training.  She's been to the beginner training session already.  Adopt this beauty!  She is fostered in Northfield Vermont.   Please submit a completed application on our website with any interest or inquiries. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 2, 2025, 8:18 am

Story
Mackie is a very handsome chocolate labrador/retriever mix possibly with some Chesapeake Bay retriever in there too! He is almost 1 year old and weighs about 40 lbs. but is a bit too thin now so we expect he will gain a bit of weight. He is very sweet, playful and dog friendly and was waiting for a long time in the shelter before we were finally able to rescue him and a local foster stepped up to care for him until he arrives in New England in mid-December. Mackie would do very well with an active family, couple or individual, ready to play and go on adventures with him and snuggle in on a cold night, ideally in a home with another dog to play with as well! This boy has a classic look and is sure to be snapped up quickly so if you are interested in adopting, fostering to adopt or fostering him until he finds his forever home please contact Village for Paws Rescue soon at villageforpawsrescue@gmail.com for more information or to fill out an application.

Story
Meet Kelley – A Heart of Gold Name: Kelley Age: 2.5 years Breed: Labrador retriever/staffordshire terrier mix Health Status: Heartworm positive - Heartworm shots in June.  Will be heartworm free after About Kelley: Meet Kelley, a gentle and loving 2.5-year-old dog who has a story that will tug at your heartstrings. Kelley was found camping out at an abandoned hospital with her "boyfriend" and around 40 other dogs. When the demolition crew noticed she was pregnant, they compassionately set aside a safe area for her to give birth. Tragically, before rescue crews could reach her, a severe storm hit Houston, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of all but one of her puppies. Despite this trauma, Kelley remains a sweet and loving soul. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly to those who show her kindness. Her nurturing instincts shine through, and her gentle nature makes her a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. Personality: Kelley is a true sweetheart. While she may be a bit shy initially, she is incredibly loving and thrives on affection. She is okay in a crate and has shown that she can adapt well to a home environment. Her kind demeanor makes her a great match for families or individuals who are willing to provide her with a little time to come out of her shell. Health and Recovery: Kelley will be getting heartworm shots in June.  With all your love and care, she can look forward to a bright, healthy future. Heartworms are alarmingly common in stray dogs in the Houston area, primarily due to the region’s warm and humid climate, which creates ideal conditions for mosquitoes—the primary carriers of the heartworm parasite.   When you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog, you're not just giving them a second chance at life—you're also embracing the opportunity to make a profound difference in their journey to recovery. Heartworm positive dogs are often overlooked, but they are just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a forever home as any other pup. By adopting one, you’ll experience the joy of watching them blossom into a healthy, happy companion. Your love and care can help them overcome this challenge, and in return, they will shower you with unconditional affection and gratitude for the rest of their lives.  If you’re looking to open your heart to a dog who has already shown incredible resilience, Kelley is waiting for you! She deserves a loving forever home where she can feel safe and cherished.  To add Kelley to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2192981##

Story
Introducing Jackson, or as we like to call him, Jack Teller - a true survivor who has overcome countless obstacles including cancer. He now lives as a proud, playful tripod.  Despite his rough start, Jack Teller has blossomed into a remarkable companion. Like any dog, he was initially wary of new faces, but it didn't take long for him to realize that there are kind-hearted souls out there who only want to shower him with love and affection. And boy, did he surprise us all! Jack Teller turned out to be the friendliest pup around, melting hearts left and right with his warm greetings and wagging tail. He's not just good with people, but dogs too - a true social butterfly! Like many of our Tx dogs he was treated for heartworms. NOTHING to worry about as this is very common here.  He has since completed his treatment. He's Texas-tough and full of heart! If you're looking for a hiking buddy or simply a furry friend to join you on leisurely strolls, Jackson is your guy. He absolutely loves going on walks and exploring the great outdoors. Plus, he's a pro when it comes to crate training. Talk about an all-around good boy! He's been waiting for you at Spring Branch Rescue for a long time.  To add Jackson to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. He is wagging his tail and wiggling his butt at just the thought of finding his forever home and his story is just beginning! His next chapter could be with you! Story
Meet Ozzy– Your New Adventure Buddy (and Full-Time Goofball)!  Ozzy is a 5-month-old, 40-lb Lab mix who’s basically the dog version of that lovable little brother who never runs out of energy. He’s sweet, smart, and ridiculously friendly — whether you’re a dog, a cat, or a stranger he just met on the sidewalk, Ozzy is convinced you’re his new best friend. He lives to play — dog park? Heaven. Tug toy? Game on. Wrestling before bedtime? Count on it. Got another high-energy dog? Ozzy’s ready to be their ride-or-die. Sure, he’s a bit mouthy in play (he’s still learning his manners), so a home without very young kids is ideal. But don’t let the chaos gremlin routine fool you — Ozzy is crate trained, potty trained, and sleeps through the night like an angel in his crate. He already knows “sit”,  “shake”, and “lay down” and is super trainable with the right guidance. He loves to play fetch endlessly.  Ozzy’s Highlights:   •   Crate trained & housebroken   •   Sleeps through the night   •   Walks great on leash   •   Cat friendly!   •   Water lover    •   A+ adventure buddy: perfect for hikes, jogs, and play-all-day types Ozzy would thrive with an active family — especially one with another playful pup to help burn off all that joyful energy with a yard. If you’re ready for love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos… Ozzy’s your guy. Not in Texas.....No problem.  We offer transport from Texas to the Pacific Northwest & East Coast.  If you have fallen in love with Ozzy go to www.springbranchrescue.org for an adoption application.  If you have fallen madly in love and would like to make this baby part of your family, then go to https://www.petstablished.com/organization/920716    ##2564867##
