Ellie first came to CVHS young and pregnant, eight years ago. We placed her with an amazing foster through her pregnancy, delivery, and raising of her litter of seven puppies. Everyone, including Ellie, were quickly adopted into wonderful homes. Now Ellie`s owner needs to move to London, and he knows she will not be happy living in a large city environment. We always take back our dogs, and we are more than happy to help Ellie find her next loving home!Ellie is still as sweet as we all remember her, and still a dog who appreciates a life of consistency, trust, affection, outdoor time, and couch cuddles! She currently has a number of dog friends, and she adjusts her play style to match what they like. She lives with cats, and will cuddle with them, but prefers they do not come near her while she is eating. She has done well with babies and kids over eight, but the toddler age-group is concerning to her -- too much unpredictable movement and noise. With new people of all ages, Ellie can be shy initially, but warms up nicely with patience and positive reassurance.Ellie can be anxious when left home alone, so it would be great if she could find a new home where someone is around most of the time. She is crate trained, and will settle contentedly in her crate. Ellie loves car rides, hikes, many walks a day, exploring the outdoors, and every bit of attention you can give her. This ginger girl has the most beautiful white face, but when she perks up her ears, she looks just like a puppy. If you`ve ever shared your life with an older dog, you know what a joy they are, and Ellie has many great years to share her love and wisdom. Ellie is scheduled to have a broken tooth removed on Oct 13th, but she can meet potential adopters before that, so reach out to us!A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Ellie`s $350.00 adoption fee.
