Story
Are you looking for a highly intelligent partner that loves to learn new things, is loyal and not only likes being told what to do but needs that? You won’t find that kind of love on Tinder, but don’t worry we’ve got you covered! Knox may just be the man you’ve been missing in your life. At just 10 months old, this guy is craving some love and stability in his new home. He has spent the last month in a training program, and has improved in some areas and straight up excelled in most. He is incredibly smart, making him a super fun dude for an experienced handler. He learns new skills at a rapid pace and is already leash trained, treadmill trained, crate trained, and is nailing his obedience training. We are always coming up with new tricks to teach him because he craves that mind work! He loves playing with other dogs and even showed great potential for living with a dog savvy cat if given the guidance he needs. He loves playing with dogs so much in fact that we are requiring another dog for him in his new home. His only area of weakness is his insecurity with strangers. We have made great strides in this area with regular controlled outings, proper leash skills and confidence building exercises. With the right handler, we truly believe that the sky's the limit for Knox! We would love to find his person so we can work hand in hand with his training so he continues to excel and becomes the best dog that we know he can be. He will do best in a calm, adult-only home with at least one other dog friend. If you are looking for that special someone to create a strong bond with, look no further and fill out your application to meet Knox today at www.pottersangelsrescue.org

Story
Meet Mario! He’s a 1.5 yr old neutered male lab mix looking for a constant companion. Mario is a sweet natured, obedient boy that has some unique qualities and is looking for that perfect fit! He was raised in a shelter setting and although he struggles with being left home alone, he thrives in the shelter environment. He crates easily, is calm and quiet in his kennel and loves to play with all the other dogs at the facility. However, in a home he gets very anxious about being crated and left alone. He’s a pack animal that does not like being separated from his pack, which is difficult to find in the busy human world, but we know his home is out there! If you think you could fit his need for constant companionship, fill out an application at www.pottersangelsrescue.org to come meet him today. You will not be disappointed!

Story
Meet Rumi! This handsome, loving boy is a local surrender looking for a new home! Rumi is a 4 1/2-year-old Lab mix weighing about 60 lbs. Sadly, Rumi’s current owner is facing medical challenges and can no longer provide the care he deserves. She has made the difficult decision to surrender him, but we know that the right person will give him the loving chance he needs. Rumi has a lot of good things going for him - he's house trained, neutered, and up to date on his vet care. Inside the house, he’s an absolute angel – well-behaved, calm, and just full of love. ♥&#239&#184&#143 He’s also very food motivated, which makes training easier! With slow introductions and in a controlled environment, Rumi does very well with people and other dogs. He has some good canine buddies he plays with on a regular basis! Rumi can be a little more reactive when it comes to seeing people or dogs during walks on a leash or coming into the yard unexpectedly. While Rumi struggles with some reactivity issues, we truly believe he’ll thrive in the right home with a patient owner who is willing to support and understand Rumi's needs. Rumi's adoption will come with one complimentary training session. Here's what Rumi's trainer shared: "... we had worked together on his reactive behaviors towards people and dogs, especially from within owner's fenced in yard. Rumi is an intelligent and sensitive dog, who catches on to things quickly. He needs structured introductions to new people and dogs, and would benefit from consistent training to reduce his reactivity. I think that if placed in the right home with a patient person(s) who has the ability to meet his needs Rumi could do extremely well." Video available upon request.   Our adoption fee is $400 which includes age-appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies), neutering, worming, microchipping, and health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming, and similar dog-related products and services are provided     April 14, 2025, 10:44 am
