Hazel Jane is about 18 months old, 47 pounds, with medium energy. She was found on a highway in SC and brought up here to Vermont to find her forever family. Hazel loves to go for a walk or a hike w her human but will also nap for hours by the fire.  She plays w toys and wrestles (submissively) w her older bigger foster brother. She enjoys training and has learned sit, wait, and paw.  She is very funny and goofy at times and enjoys when you play with her. Hazel has been loving the snow! She is in the process of learning how to be off leash on hikes and has shown that she wants to stay w the pack.  Hazel does exhibit separation anxiety and takes a medication daily for this. She does well when she's able to settle down in the crate for a few mins before her human leaves. Hazel is very good w meeting new people, dogs and kids.  She lives at her foster home w chickens, cats, and 2 dogs and is very good w them. Story
Mackie is a very handsome chocolate labrador/retriever mix possibly with some Chesapeake Bay retriever in there too! He is almost 1 year old and weighs about 40 lbs. but is a bit too thin now so we expect he will gain a bit of weight. He is very sweet, playful and dog friendly and was waiting for a long time in the shelter before we were finally able to rescue him and a local foster stepped up to care for him until he arrives in New England in mid-December. Mackie would do very well with an active family, couple or individual, ready to play and go on adventures with him and snuggle in on a cold night, ideally in a home with another dog to play with as well! This boy has a classic look and is sure to be snapped up quickly so if you are interested in adopting, fostering to adopt or fostering him until he finds his forever home please contact Village for Paws Rescue soon at villageforpawsrescue@gmail.com for more information or to fill out an application.

Story
Our dog Zoe has been with us for 10 years and we have always enjoyed her. We found her from a rescue group called passion for paws. She’s very healthy and very very active. we love our dog very much, but her anxiety is growing at a rate that we can’t seem to keep up with anymore. We’ve been working with a vet to try to bring her some peace and calm, but besides heavily sedating her at night time nothing seems to be working. She’s a loving and sweet dog that has severe separation anxiety and lately the past few months she’s not sleeping at night time we have two small kids and unfortunately our dog Zoe is keeping them up throughout the night. She’s also having trouble with anxiety peeing during these hours, it’s with a heavy heart that we are trying to find a home for her, but we feel someone possibly without kids who has more time to give her would be better suited for her later years in life. We’re hoping to find a family or person with lots of love and time to give her.

Meet Wag! This happy go lucky guy is up for an adventure and a family to take him on it! Wag is just under 3 years old and weighs about 77 lbs. He’s house trained and crate trained. He’s never lived with kitties, but does well with a proper intro with other dogs. He’s never lived with kids, but has a nice personality and would do well with dog respectful kids. Could this be the guy for you? Applications: https://airtable.com/appowPvyyGwcXQxBN/shr1OAOWYfymceEDR
