Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shadow is about 2 years old, neutered, housetrained, current on healthcare, microchipped, crate trained and cute as a button.  At only 35 pounds, he loves to lay on your lap for a little while in the evening and he’s the perfect size for it.  He knows sit, paw, down (lay down) and is extremely well behaved in the house.  Will jump on and sleep on the sofa.  Shadow is GREAT with other dogs and lives with two female canines in his foster home.  He also lived with other dogs in his previous home.  (Three dogs from this household were surrendered to the shelter due to housing problems, which is a common theme these days.)    But, Shadow’s main focus will be YOU.  He loves human attention and will cover your face with kisses.  Always so eager to please, he hates when you must leave him.  For this reason, we recommend a very sturdy crate, such as the one shown in the photos. He has destroyed the latches on lesser crates.  Shadow eats his meals in his crate, gets a peanut butter Kong in there every afternoon, and sleeps in the crate through the night, where you will not hear a peep out of him.  In the morning, he will wait patiently to be let out.  He is not a very “barky” dog, but he will let you know when a visitor arrives or a strange animal is in the vicinity.   He loves to ride in the car and does not get carsick.    He will jump right in the car and we use a harness and seatbelt for his safety.  A fenced yard is preferred.     PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 8:31 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.LuLuBelle: sweetest puppy ever? Her foster mom says she is naughty and not nice all the time, but smart as a whip! WIth smart dogs, the owner or foster mom has to be on the ball and think ahead, and that is not always easy with puppies. It's taken a while, but LuLuBelle has apparently mastered crate training as well as being 95% housetrained. There are so many things calling a puppy away from focusing on being good! To adopt seven month old LuLuBelle, spayed, and ready to roll into a home, apply online!     PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PATRICK, the survivor/miracle boy/one who surpassed all expectations—all thanks to YOU for your encouragement and financial support! Three weeks ago, Patrick was found in a ditch on Campbell Highway one leg, shattered, and the other one in need of repair. Patrick is a two-year-old pitbull mix, 60 pounds, friendly and sweet, despite his traumatic injuries. Because of the support of the community, we collected enough funds to fix! He’s not a $6 million man, but he is close! Patrick had his stitches out last week, and has been strengthening his leg by doing what he feels like doing. The vet has told his foster family he has unlimited exercise allowance now, and while he will still want to rest frequently, he is no longer in need of his fentanyl patch or heavy duty pain meds, and now he just needs to complete healing and strengthening. Patrick was neutered at the time of his repairs, and is still working on re-sheathing his male parts. we are guessing there is some nerve damage that has caused an issue with this, but Foster Dad has not given up and feels he has seen improvement. We are considering using a male wrap to help him keep himself clean, and if needed, we can consider further surgery. Let’s give him some time to heal first! Patrick is available for adoption!     PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Midnight was feeling so much better this week we have scheduled him for a neuter, heartworm test, microchip, and a rabies shot today at the Spay Neuter Clinic.Midnight is lovely with other dogs as well as with children of all ages and every adult he has met. (He is not good with cats.) Midnight weighs about 65 pounds, is five years old, and is beautifullyhousetrained. He walks beautifully on a leash, and really loves having time outside where he can just relax and rest in the grass. Despite his love of the outdoors, he is considered an indoor dog, but a fenced-in yard would be absolutely wonderful for him. Are you ready for a steady, sturdy friend? Go to our website at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, and fill out an application. We would love to see him adopted very soon. A dog this beautiful is too wonderful to pass up!   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
