He has a confident demeanor and likes to spend time taking walks. He tires fairly easily because of his weight, therefore, he needs a lot more walking! Storm has been learning to walk using a gentle leader which helps tremendously. With proper care and exercise, he can shed those extra pounds and become a healthier pup. I have videos!!! Surrendered by a family whose son turned out to be allergic to pets, Isla (pronounced “eye-la”) uses her sandy-white coat and black-framed, sea-green eyes to show you why she is named for the Scottish word for “island.” Her mom was a German Shepherd/Lab mix; dad was a traveling man. Lack of socialization left Isla wary of strangers, and she’s a little worried and antsy at first; but she comes around with a visitor's patience and time and is ready to play fetch with a "Frisbee" or ball. She has a high prey drive, so testing would be needed before adoption to a family that already has a cat. Highly food motivated, she walks happily on a leashed “sniff and stroll” through the woods, responds promptly to “sit”, and is doing well learning other commands. She is great at bath and nail-trim time with her former foster (a professional groomer) but uneasy at vet appointments. We are working to discourage jump-ups. At 2.5 years old and weighing 49 pounds, she is already house-trained (she lived happily with a family of dad, mom, two teenage boys and a toddler), crate-trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccines and monthly parasite preventatives. Her easy-care coat and playful attitude with other dogs add to her list of assets. I am sadly needing to rehome my big boy Tank. Due to a brain injury, I am no longer able to safely care for him on my own. He is 2 years old, a lean and long 65 pounds, and the bestest boy. He is crate trained, house trained, neutered, up to do on all vet things, and has had obedience training using an e-collar. He wants all the love and all the treats. Unfortunately his size and energy levels coupled with his lack of body awareness just creates a dangerous situation for me and probably small kids. He lives with a small dog now and would love a home with another dog friend. Not sure about cats. Needs a place to run, ideally with a fence, and is used to being inside. If interested, please comment below! We can set up a time to meet at my house, followed by a lesson with his trainer and finally a trip to yours!

Story
Tennessee is a wonderful dog in all respects. He is *only* available for adoption due to the cat's refusal to accept him into the home, leaving me with a difficult choice. He's fine, but the cat has been pure chaos for 6 months. Tennessee is just over 1 year old, 65 pounds at his last weigh-in, house trained, good on a leash, good with other dogs and respectful of cats. He loves to play and go for walks; in short, a perfect, healthy dog. He is gentle and sweet, not given to destructive chewing or other less than desirable behaviors. He needs a fenced yard to hang out in, and someone who will play ball with him and take him out to meet people and other dogs on a couple of daily walks, no crates please (not sure he is crate-trained anyway).
