Hugh is one nice big guy! He is easy going, played very well in the "gentle" play group, and was very polite with the other dogs. Hugh is hoping someone will discover him, bring him home, and give him one of those BIG plush dog beds so he can really have a "soft" place to land. He is always grateful for the simple things in life!Weight: 76 pounds.

Story
Jasper is feeling a little overwhelmed here in the shelter, but he is staying positive and trying to make the best of this new situation. Once he gets to know you he feels a whole lot better and appreciates those people that are kind and gentle with him. We are still getting to know Jasper but we think he is going to turn out to be just fine, and we are seeing him become a little more confident each day. He really melts our hearts!

Story
Luca came to us during the pandemic. His history prior to us is unknown— he was found wandering. They thought he was almost 2 at that time, which would make him almost 5. We did obedience training with experienced trainers for almost 4 months. He knows basic commands; sit, down, no, place. “Stay” is hard. We’ve attempted to slowly—- very slowly— acclimate him to our cat. We have not been able to successfully do this, and we have to be very careful to keep them apart, and/or make sure the cat has plenty of safe places to hide. He seems uncomfortable with young children. He has been growling /barking at kids lately. We have always been really careful to have him on leash since we didn’t know his past. He has never bitten anyone, but we have a baby granddaughter, and we cannot risk it. He is crate trained. He needs rawhide or some other items to do heavy chewing. He is food-motivated, and will work for treats. He’s a great dog for the right home. Very lovey.

Story
We need to rehome this big beautiful boy asap! He’ll be 2 on 11/6/2021 and he’s 1/2 black lab 1/2 German Sheperd. Ruger would make a fantastic hiking on leash, fishing and duck hunting buddy! He loves to retrieve and play and does really well when rewarded with treats and praise. We feel he is more of an alpha male. A protector. I feel he will need to go to an owner with dog experience of larger breeds, who will put him to “work”, keeping him active and further training him to be a good boy. He does fine with our two cats and kittens and plays well with our small Morkie dog, his buddy Charlie. He does well with my four kids, aged 3-18, but does jump up on them excitedly to greet them so he needs further training on that. He will need to be further socialized. He does bark and get overly excited in the window when he sees people walking by with their dogs. He is kennel trained, 100% potty trained and safe with food. He needs a lot of space to run & thrive.
