Story
💛💙Honey Blue is a young puppy with a golden, honey-colored coat and one striking blue eye that makes her extra memorable. She’s still brand new to the shelter, so we’re just beginning to learn who she is — but we’ve been told she’s sweet, playful, energetic, and full of puppy enthusiasm. Like any good little honeybee, she’s buzzing with potential, and we’ll be sharing updates as her personality starts to shine. This sweet girl’s story is just getting started. 💛💙 If you are interested in learning more or would like to set up a Meet & Treat appointment, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.hsbcpets.com/adopt

Story
Snoop is a 3-year-old black Labrador Retriever who came to the shelter after his family faced a change in their housing situation. He had been living in a home where he was house-trained, kept loose in the house, and shared his space with another dog.Shelter life is a little overwhelming for Snoop at first, and he can seem unsure as he settles in, but he truly enjoys spending time with people and finds comfort in their presence. Treats are a great way to make friends with him, and they help bring out his typical Labrador personality.Snoop is used to indoor living and did well in a home environment, though trash needed to be kept out of reach. On leash, he’s still learning polite walking manners and tends to pull while he takes in everything around him.We do not yet know how Snoop does with cats or children. With time and a calm home routine, Snoop is ready to ease back into family life and share his companionship with the people lucky enough to call him their own.If you’re interested in meeting Snoop, please fill out an adoption application at **[www.hsbcpets.com/adopt](http://www.hsbcpets.com/adopt)** 🐾 If you are interested in learning more or would like to set up a Meet & Treat appointment, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.hsbcpets.com/adopt

Story
Micki is a wonderful dog who loves people. She has done well with kids in the past, but does not live with any children at this time. She does live with cats and does well with them. Micki can be very reactive/aggressive towards other dogs, and has gone through some training to help with that issue, but needs to be an only dog in a home.  Micki needs to be placed in a home with people who have experience working with dogs who are reactive to other dogs. She must be on a leash or in a secure fenced yard when outside.  Micki was born in 2011. Being a senior gal, she has some urinary incontinence which is controlled with a medication called Proin and it works great. Micki has been through several basic obedience classes, as well as some specialty classes to help her with impulse control. She is very treat-motivated and eager to please. Some of the commands she knows include "sit", "down", "stay", "come" and "place". She walks with a gentle leader, but is still working on heeling nicely. One of Micki's most favorite activity is to play fetch, and she would play it all day long if she could. She is extremely athletic and very focused on the ball. Micki likes to go swimming, especially if it includes fetching a stick. She also likes to play with toys, but gets a little too excited at the sound of anything that squeaks. While in the house, Micki is very well-behaved and is just happy to be with her people. She also loves to go on car rides and is a great co-pilot. MICKI NEEDS AN EXPERIENCED DOG PERSON AND FENCED-IN YARD/NEVER OFF LEASH.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Hi, I'm Mario! My favorite activities include squirrel watching, chasing squirrels, going on walks to hunt squirrels, and dreaming about squirrels. I’m intelligent and learn new things quickly. I’m goofy at times, but aren't we all? I love kids, especially the ones who like to play with me! I like to make friends with most other dogs, but I'm still learning what the appropriate way to meet them is. Cats.. why don't they want to play with me? I love a good routine, so if you think you are up for it I think we could be best friends! Adoption fees include vetting, vaccinations, spay/neuter. A $10 microchipping fee does apply. From the foster parents: Mario is a very sweet boy and smart too! He's a lab mix, but don't let the photos fool you; he is smaller than he looks weighing in around 45-50lbs. He's surprisingly very soft to pet and tends to shed a lot, but he doesn't mind being brushed. Mario was found wondering the streets in the city and taken in as a stray. When his previous owners never claimed him, Lucky Paws jumped in and rescued him. He's crate trained, potty trained and knows basic commands like sit, shake, down and a few others. Mario is a submissive dog with his humans and doesn't like getting yelled at when being naughty. He tends to act out when he doesn't get enough attention according to his standards, however he doesn't act out when you stick to a good routine. He likes to talk (bark) a lot more than some people enjoy; especially if there's a squirrel, dog or mail man around. He needs a home with a fenced in yard, because he will run off if not on a leash or in a fenced in area. He loves kids, but would do best in a home with older kids who will not let him run out the front door when you're not looking. He has some anxiety issues and is a bit high strung.
