Story
Looks like: Dachshund Mix Female, 13 years old, 14 pounds Sweet and spirited, Myra is eager to be your next best furry friend! Myra is a 13-year-old Dachshund Mix. Although she is considered a senior, Myra romps around with dogs half her age, showing that age is just a number! She also loves going for walks or casually running around the yard. Myra loves humans that she knows and trusts. Since she can be shy at first when meeting new people, it may take Myra a little bit of time to warm up to strangers. However, once she gets to know you, she will drench you with kisses and stare at you with sweet eyes! Myra is just as much of a travel buddy as a home companion. When you're heading out for errands or adventures by car, Myra will cheerfully ride along in the backseat staring out the window. However, she doesn't like to be left behind when you stop, and her cries will let you know she's still there! While she plays around like a younger dog, Myra does have kidney disease that is managed through IV fluids, medication, and a special diet. Myra is searching for a home without small children. Miss Myra came to us from the SPCA of Monterey County. She was brought there after her guardian passed away.

Story
Looks like: Chihuahua/Dachshund mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 10 pounds This adorable little lad is ready to snuggle right up into your home and your heart. Jamie can be just a little shy when first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and bonds deeply with his people. He even seems to enjoy the company of calm, dog savvy children. More hands to give him love! Sweet little Jamie gets along well with other dogs, but we don't know quite yet how he is with kitties. Little Jamie is described as an active boy. He loves his squeaky toys and playing ball. He has such a fun personality, his foster even describes him as a 'real clown'! He's love a home where he can get a few walks a day as these are a highlight of his day! Jamie has lived with other dogs in the past and seems to enjoy the company of other canine companions. As active as he is, Jamie is a cuddle bug at heart! He loves to snuggle and give kisses with his people! What more could you ask for in your next best friend? Jamie came to us after his guardian had to move to a facility that doesn't accept pets and was heartbroken to give him up.

Story
Looks like: Poodle, Dachshund mix Female, 12 years old (estimated), 16 pounds Little miss Marimar is ready to trot on in to your home and maybe into your heart! This sweet little one doesn't ask for much. She'd love a home where she can take in a nice walk around the neighborhood and maybe some cuddle time with her person. She doesn't always love being handled so she is searching for a home that is able to provide her with the space she needs to become comfortable while she warms up. Marimar is accustomed to living with other dogs although she can be a tad overwhelmed when meeting some dogs. Ideally, she'd love a home with another dog in the home that's of similar size and not upset with sharing her people. She may also need some slow intros with dogs in her next home. She also gets nervous when she's left alone (so a home with another mellow companionable canine would be ideal); We don't know yet how she does around kitties and she's looking for an adult only home. This sweet girl walks great on leash and enjoys these outings but she can share her opinions about other dogs when out in the world so she's looking for an adopter experienced (or willing to learn!) with leash reactivity. This sweet little lady joined us from Santa Cruz County Animal Services after she was surrendered to the shelter.
