Story
Bagel  2 year, spayed female, 12 lbs Dachshund mix   Princess Bagel (as she is known) is a tiny timid diva. She prefers her food dish be served to her on whatever cushioned comfortable elevated throne she is on, and would like to be cozy and have few interruptions during her frequent and long naps.   LIKES: Bagel loves treats! She's a sucker for dog jerky and cookies, and it really is the way to win her heart and trust. She also likes the aforementioned cozy blankets and cushions.   DISLIKES: New situations and being rushed to meet new people (especially men). Princess Bagel has some deep seeded trust issues, but give her a quiet place to decompress and no demands, a few extra tasty nibbles, and she will come out and be your buddy and follow you like a shadow for the rest of your days. Bagel also doesn't really enjoy being crated.    CRATE TRAINING: She will rub her little nose raw when left alone in a crate.    POTTY TRAINING: After she trusts you, she walks well on leash and will do her business quickly on a walk.    OTHER/MISC: Bagel gets along with other dogs in her foster home, but is indifferent to them. She didn't show much interest in the cats in her foster home, but did bark at them early on and was easily corrected. When you pick her up, she might leak a little pee... she's an anxious little peanut. No small children please. Bagel will need to be adopted within 30 minutes of Eugene/Springfield to allow for her current foster to help transition her to the new home with as little trauma as possible.   To further inquire about BAGEL, submit an application. https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how BAGEL will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.   Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family. Submitting an application does not guarantee a call or response from our rescue. Our volunteers will screen the applications and reach out if it is determined to be a good fit.   We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for BAGEL as well as her future family.   *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon   https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with information about the next steps and setting up a Meet and Greet. Story
Pickles was found on 3/2/26 at W 8th Ave & Chambers St. She came into the shelter not yet spayed. If you believe this is your missing dog, please contact the shelter at (541) 689-1503. Since this dog is new to the shelter and we are still looking for their family, they are not viewable on the adoption floor at this time. The shelter staff is giving me some time to settle in and adjust to this new place. As we get to know each other a little better, the behavior team and veterinary staff will then be evaluating my needs. Please stay tuned for my updated information! Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable and for most dogs we are only guessing at their primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road, Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. See all of the pets at this shelter by visiting www.green-hill.org.
