Story
Be prepared to have your heart stolen! This big guy is named Bandit and he will steal all your love! Bandit was a transfer from a local shelter partner after he was surrendered by his owner for being nippy when brushing him. While with us Bandit has tolerated brushing from staff and volunteers alike. Giving us no issues for anything we have done for or with him. Bandit has done well with people of all sizes, has met young kids and done well, and has met a cat that he was curious and sweet to. We will require that Bandit meet any resident canines to make sure everyone gets along. He is what is called a `livestock guardian dog`, so his breed was bred to guard flocks of sheep or other farm animals. His breed is also know for patrolling and roaming perimeters, so a fenced in back yard is best for him to be happy. Combined with Bandit`s need to lose weight we will require a single family home for this big fella. Bandit has done well with brushing and you will need to invest in quality brush and occasional grooming by a professional to help maintain upkeep of his coat. You will also need a good vacuum for the `tumbleweeds`. Specific LGD breed experience or large giant breed dog experience would be helpful, but not required. As previously mentioned Bandit is overweight and needs to shed some pounds to help him maintain a healthy body condition. Bandit also has very worn down teeth which our DVM`s recommend a dental as soon as he is at a healthier weight Fortunately Bandit has been approved once we he is adopted to be a clinic patient for life. It will be his future families responsibility to follow up on any further medical care or needs for Bandit once he is adopted. Our kennel team will be happy to answer any follow up questions you may have during your visit. Come visit this perfect gentle giant today!

Story
Freya is young great pyrenees mix that is ready for her forever family. Freya will require an adopter that is prepared to help her manage her mouthy impulses and build her confidence. She is not for a first time adopter and we are requiring experience with high energy breeds for her. She has lots of energy and due to her breed mixes (pyrenes, husky, and german pincher) it will be very important her future family be prepared to have proper outlets for her energy. Due to her mouthy nature and some guarding that has been observed here at the shelter we are requiring children in the home be 16 and up. Freya does well with other dogs but will need a dog that can meet her energy level. If you have another dog in the home a required introduction will need to be completed prior to adoption. Due to her timid nature with new people and situations we are requiring that everyone in the home come and meet Freya. While she may have a few things to work on this sweet girl has wonderful potential and lots of love to give! If you would like to visit or have more questions please speak with our kennel team who will be happy to help you.
