Leon is a very big and unique boy with a playful, quirky, and affectionate personality! He's happiest when he's with his person/family and gives the best slobbery kisses. Leon is more than just a handsome face. He's also smart and knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and heel. When he's by your side, he's on cloud nine. He is a velcro dog and your shadow will become bigger everywhere you go. The TVR team is hoping that the right person is out there, willing to give Leon a chance. They love and adore him, and he gives even greater love right back. He is truly a wonderful and one of a kind dog. Even though Leon is a Leonberger, he doesn't fit the typical criteria of the breed. The loving giant has been through a lot of changes in a short period of time and requires a home where he has stability and consistency. Leon doesn't like to be left alone and suffers from separation anxiety. He is working through this issue and has the potential to make progress overtime but it would be beneficial for him to have someone that works from home and isn't gone for longer periods of time. He requires a home environment without a lot of change, such as new people coming in and out. Leon is not suited for city life and prefers not to interact with other dogs. Leon is a wonderful and unique dog with a lot of love to give that just needs someone to take a chance on him. He will do great with an experienced dog owner(s) who understands each dog has its individual needs and Leon is no different.
